New York Attorney General Letitia James got brutally roasted on social media after she exhibited a humiliating amount of “sheer panic” in response to the ongoing investigation of her alleged mortgage fraud, leading conservatives to sound off on X and infer, based on her “insane body language,” that she was acting like she had been caught in a crime.
For background, Attorney General Letitia James of New York is the subject of an ongoing mortgage fraud investigation that centers around evidence that she listed a property in Virginia as her primary residence while holding office in New York, which could land her in serious legal trouble. When a video of her response to the announcement of the investigation was posted on X on April 16, 2025, members of the MAGA movement pointed out just how nervous and panicked the attorney general seemed.
In her response to the investigation announcement, AG James shouted emphatically, “I’m focused! I’m prepared! My mission is clear! I’m focused! I’m focused! I’m ready!” She continued shouting, “I’ve been trained by the best! I went to Howard University, [which] overturned legal segregation in this country! I’ve been taught in those classrooms where Thurgood Marshall once taught!”
Continuing, the attorney general screamed, “I’m not afraid of no president!” She then added, “Donald Trump, we’re ready for you! We’re coming for you! We’re standing up for you!” She went on, “We’re fighting on! We’re not going down silent!”
Ramping up her intensity even more, AG James yelled, “Victory, my friends, is clear! It’s now! And I’m not waiting four years, I’m waiting two, until a speaker by the name of Hakeem Jeffries comes to bring us some rest!” She concluded, “It’s up to us! We’ve saved this democracy before; we’ll save it now! Let’s go!”
In response to the attorney general’s berserk speech, the X user Green Lives Matter wrote, “Holy sh–. Letitia James is losing her mind as reports are coming out that Donald Trump’s DOJ is targeting her for criminal prosecution.” They added, “Look at her insane body language as she claims that Hakeem Jeffries, as Speaker of the House, will save her.”
Continuing, Green Lives Matter said that AG James was exhibiting “sheer panic,” and a commenter replied, “Bondi is going to make BIG (sic) example out of big Tish.” Another commenter chimed in, “Give her a fair trial, then throw the book at her.” More commenters weighed in as well, expressing hopes that Attorney General Pam Bondi will ensure that James gets justice if proven guilty.

Additionally, the attorney general’s alleged mortgage fraud became the catalyst for a new piece of legislation announced on August 4, 2025, called the LETITIA (Law Enforcement Tools To Interdict Troubling Investments in Abodes) Act, which was introduced by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and is intended to create mandatory minimum sentences of a year or more for public officials who are charged with fraud-related crimes.
