In a shocking display of aggression from the left, a Massachusetts representative called on her supporters to create public chaos, with a group of Democrat politicians and protesters erupting into wild applause in response, leaving conservatives stunned and infuriated.
For context, according to press accounts, over 1000 leftists gathered outside the U.S. Treasury Department to protest Elon Musk’s influence on the government through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on February 4, 2025. One of the prominent speakers at the protest was Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), a member of the so-called “squad” who is known for her bombastic, emotionally-charged rhetoric.
At the protest, Rep. Pressley was filmed screaming and ranting about Mr. Musk’s alleged overreach within the federal government, specifically his proposed access to federal payment systems. With the crowd erupting in cheers, Rep. Pressley said her party was going to come at Musk “with unprecedented organizing, mobiliging (sic), mobilizing, [and] agitating.” She added, “We will see you in the courts, in Congress, in the streets…Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo baby!”
When a clip of Rep. Pressley’s speech was shared on X by the Libs of TikTok account, and wrote, “Typical Democrat doing what they do best: Calling for violence and chaos,” conservatives described the protest as “insurrection” and condemned the representative’s ranting. The user Gunther Eagleman wrote, “Insurrectionist, 20 years,” to which Libs of TikTok replied, “Those are the rules!” Another commenter chimed in, “That’s all these thugs have — violence.” He added, “Pathetic.”
Furthermore, according to press coverage of the protest, many other prominent Democrats were present and made similar statements to Rep. Pressley’s, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Sen. Chuck Schumer, along with multiple others. Rep. Maxwell Frost was quoted as saying of Elon Musk, “He has access to all our information, our Social Security numbers, the federal payment system. What’s going to stop him from stealing taxpayer money?”
In a similar vein, Rep. Jasmine Crockett went on a fiery tirade against Elon Musk, telling the crowd, “We are not going to sit around while you go and desecrate our constitution. We are going to be in your face and on your asses!” Likewise, Sen. Chuck Schumer said, “We cannot allow Elon Musk and a small group of people to secretly, behind closed doors, take away our privacy, take away our dollars, take away everything we have.”
Furthermore, When WTOP of Washington, D.C., interviewed protesters, they expressed similar sentiments to the politicians they were there to see, with D.C. resident Anna Martineau saying, “I am definitely concerned about what’s happening here with Elon Musk in the Treasury, for sure, and I’m also concerned for civil servants who are being targeted.” She added, “It is just wrong. It’s morally wrong. They are patriotic Americans who are doing their duty and doing their jobs to protect all of us.”

As for Elon Musk and DOGE’s access to the federal payment system, press accounts confirmed that the agency’s ability to review the system’s codes was “read only,” with a U.S. Treasury representative saying that DOGE’s access was limited to “maximize payment integrity for agencies and the public.” However, Democrats continued to protest after access was granted, with Sen. Elizabeth Warren reportedly saying, “Elon Musk is seizing power from the American people. We are here to fight back.”
