Woke Prosecutor to Let Registered Offender Walk Free after He Tried Kidnapping an Elementary School Child

A woke prosecutor in Colorado intends to let a registered offender go free after he was accused of trying to kidnap a child from an elementary school, with the prosecutor arguing that the man was incompetent to stand trial following a mental evaluation.

For background, on July 12, 2025, the Aurora, Colorado, District Attorney’s office told reporters that Solomon Galligan, a 33-year-old registered offender, would be allowed to go free after being charged for the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old boy during recess at Black Forest Hills Elementary School. Arapahoe County, Colorado, District Attorney Amy Padden is reportedly the prosecutor in charge of Galligan’s case.

According to Fox31, Galligan was arrested in April 2024 and subsequently underwent a mental competency evaluation, which led District Attorney Padden to conclude that he was incompetent. As a result, the DA’s office told Fox31 that they are “planning to drop charges against the defendant, which is required by law when they are found mentally incompetent to stand trial.”

However, after the attempted kidnapping occurred, a group of parents of students at Black Forest Hills Elementary called for an independent investigation into the school in a lengthy letter. Dante White, one of the parents who signed the letter, said that after Galligan appeared at the school, kids were “all having trouble sleeping” and “still have a lot of anxiety and fear.”

Continuing, White explained that after his child encountered Galligan, he “wasn’t able to make it through the day” when he returned to school the next morning. White added, “He was able to see one of the therapists there on campus which was really nice to utilize the tools that they put forward as part of the recommendations. He went back today and was able to make it through the full day.”

Importantly, the decision to let Galligan walk free was fiercely criticized by Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky, who said that there was an effort underway to “recall” DA Padden. Jurinsky told the New York Post, “The conduct of the 18th DA over the past six months is beyond deplorable. This is simply the icing on the cake.”

Doubling down, the City Councilwoman called out the district attorney for her “progressive attitude,” which Jurinsky said “will not be tolerated.” She added, “While certain state laws highlight deeper issues in the state of Colorado, Amy Padden will be recalled for her part in not upholding the laws and punishing criminals.”

Furthermore, Solomon Galligan’s family reportedly expressed concerns about him being allowed to go free, with his sister, Sarah Galligan, telling 9 News, “Every six months that we find him in the jail system, we’re happy he’s there, because then he’s not out on the streets.” Sarah added, “It just really sucks he had to do something so eye-catching for everybody to see he’s not well, and he’s not okay to be out and be on his own. Moreover, Galligan’s sister explained that he has schizophrenia and has undergone hormone therapy after identifying as a woman starting in 2011.
