A series of unhinged Facebook posts from a woke Maine high school teacher called on the U.S. Secret Service to assassinate President Trump, with the teacher going on to compare the president to Adolf Hitler and calling for the deaths of everyone in the Trump Administration.
For context, JoAnna St. Germain, who teaches English at Waterville High School in Maine, wrote several Facebook posts starting on May 1, 2025, that expressed extreme aggression towards President Trump and his Cabinet, addressing the Secret Service directly and saying that its agents have “the perfect opportunity” to kill the president.
In her initial post, St. Germain wrote, “The Secret Service has the perfect opportunity, if they choose to step up and take it.” She then added, “You are the ones with power. Coordinate. Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look at the sycophants and give them what they’re asking for.”
Moving on, St. Germain said that if the Secret Service were to “step up,” it would mean “we can avoid a civil war,” adding, “I’m not talking about assassinating a president. A president is a person duly elected by the American people. Tr*mp (sic) has shamelessly bragged openly about stealing the election. He is making plans to give himself a third term. ”
Concluding the first post, which had received over 1,900 likes at the time of this writing, St. Germain said, “If I had the skill set required, I would take them out myself.” She added, “I’m making this post public for a reason. I promise you. Don’t waste time wondering if I’m okay. I’m not. If you’re okay, you’re lying to yourself.”
In a follow-up post from May 2, St. Germain attempted to qualify her previous statements, saying, “I am so sorry you took that post to mean that all Republicans should die. I have no beef with Republicans. I have no beef with MAGA.” She added, “I meant that those in the room with Trump, who are permitting and approving his egregious actions, need to be held accountable.”
The same day, St. Germain wrote another post, saying, “You illiterate bums, oh my gosh. I posted knowing I’d likely lose my job and benefits. I have zero shame about what I’ve said. I’m not backtracking a single thing.” She then added, “I believe Trump and every sycophant he has surrounded himself with (this is not you – if you’re reading this, this doesn’t apply to you. You are beneath his notice and mine) needs to die.”

St. Germain’s final post in the series, also published on May 2, began with her saying, “Apparently, I have made the news.” She continued, “People are quite angry with me for stating openly that Trump and his cronies need to die.” She continued, “If you’re mad at this post, knowing that I just threw away a decade of experience teaching the truth, fully knowing that my superintendent will have to fire me? If you’re mad that I’m speaking truth to power? F— you.”
