In a foreboding statement, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi directly addressed perpetrators of government fraud and overspending, thanking Elon Musk for his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and revealing that an internal task force has been assigned to start the process of bringing fraudulent government employees to justice.
For context, Elon Musk and DOGE have been working tirelessly to root out fraud and waste in the federal government since January 2025, and their efforts have reportedly saved American taxpayers billions of dollars. Under Mr. Musk’s advisory, DOGE has gone on to make radical changes to the allocation of government funding to federal agencies, including USAID and the Social Security Administration.
During a Cabinet meeting held on March 24, 2025, Attorney General Bondi spoke to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, thanking the DOGE head for his work in uncovering “a lot of waste and abuse, but there is a tremendous amount of fraud, and, Elon, thank you for your partnership. Thank you for your team. You have uncovered so much fraud in our government.”
Continuing, Attorney General Bondi gave a direct warning to the perpetrators of government fraud, saying, “We will prosecute you. We have an internal task force now working with every agency sitting here at this table. And if you’ve committed fraud, we’re coming after you. Thank you, Elon.”
Moving on, AG Bondi also explained that under President Trump’s advisory, the Department of Justice will begin enforcing the death penalty for criminals convicted of violence, saying, “All of these horrible violent criminals that you’re hearing about around the country, they will face the death penalty federally within our country.”
Bondi continued, implying that the DOJ was cracking down on migrant crime and drug dealing. She went on, “And the drug dealers need to get out of here because we are coming after you. We’re going to have 94 great U.S. attorneys around this country, and everyone will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Returning to the subject of government fraud, AG Bondi and the other Cabinet members present in the room received more background from Elon Musk, who told the Cabinet that his team had recently found $330 million of wasteful spending within the Small Business Administration. Musk explained, “[We found] a case of fraud and waste with the Small Business Administration, and they were handing out $330 million worth of loans to people under the age of 11.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Trump showed his appreciation to Elon Musk and the other Cabinet members for their work in eradicating waste and fraud from the government. President Trump told the room, “We’ve had many fraudulent contracts that were caught by the work that Elon and his people are doing, and working with our people, it’s been brought to light. The fraud, not just waste and abuse, the fraud has been incredible.”
