In a bizarre appearance, MS NOW’s “All In,” failed former Georgia State Rep. Stacey Abrams claimed that President Donald Trump is leading an “authoritarian takeover.” The Democrat argued that the focus on the 2020 election is a pretext to seize records, intimidate, and disqualify voters, especially ahead of key 2026 Senate races in Georgia.
For context, Abrams called it a test run for federal overreach on elections, claiming the U.S. has reached all ten steps to authoritarianism, with the final step destroying democracy through rule changes, redistricting, voter intimidation, and election control seizures.
Losing her mind, Stacey Abrams began, “I think it’s important for us to understand that this is not about 2020. This is a pretext. The 2020 election has been investigated by Democrats, Republican and by, you know, every by every department you can imagine.”
Still not done, she claimed, “They know that election was free and fair, but what they think they can do is use this as a pretext to seize records to which the federal government is not entitled, and they will use those records to challenge voters, to intimidate them, and to preempt, disqualify them. Because Georgia has one of the preeminent Senate races in 2026.”
Making more wild allegations, the irritating Democrat stated, “This is also a test run for what they’ve tried to do across the country, which is for states to abandon their constitutional responsibility for managing elections and give that information to a federal government that is in the midst of an authoritarian takeover.”
“And so, while they will use the easy lay up of saying something about 2020, this is all about 26 and 28 and their attempt to destroy democracy,” the Abrahms alleged, “This is a country that is in the midst of an authoritarian takeover.”
Stooping to cheap political theatre, the failed candidate stated, “There are ten steps to authoritarianism, and we have hit all ten steps. But step ten is destroying democracy for everyone. And you do that by changing the rules, by redistricting.”

Bringing her absurd rant to a close, she asserted, “You do that by intimidating voters, by disqualifying voters. You do that by seizing the operations of elections. The more we watched this Republican authority regime try to take away the right to vote, the more people are going to fight to use it.”
In any case, as we reported at the American Tribune, tax documents have shown that Rewiring America, with Stacey Abrams as senior counsel, received over $5M from a $2B Biden-era EPA grant to Power Forward Communities before Trump canceled it.

Breaking down the situation, Lee Zeldin, the EPA Administrator, explained, “Every single penny given to this Stacey Abrams-connected NGO last year was either sent to another pass-through entity or used to pay the salaries of its well-connected top officials… This is the same organization that earned only $100 in 2023 but was handed $2 BILLION in 2024 by the Biden EPA. I proudly terminated this grant…”
