Former CIA Director John Brennan, known mainly for being a consistent hater of President Donald Trump and for signing the infamous letter about the Hunter Biden laptop in which he and others claimed it had all the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign, something for which Brennan and the rest had their security clearances stripped, recently freaked out on MSNBC about Trump’s foreign policy.
That came when the former CIA director appeared on MSNBC’s “All In” program on Friday, February 14, and said that President Donald Trump’s foreign policy is creating “animosity” toward the United States. For some context, Brennan is widely regarded as being a neoconservative, which means, in part, that he generally supports American intervention on the side of “democracy” abroad, particularly where doing so damages Russian interests,
In any case, speaking during his appearance on MSNBC, Brennan said, “The Trump administration is going to use whatever tool it can to intimidate, to threaten others. The administration is coming across as very arrogant, self-centered and is going to push for its interests, irrespective of the interests of our partners and allies.”
Continuing, he claimed that it looks like the Trump Administration is “shaking down” the Ukrainian government, though he didn’t really clarify what that meant given all the money America has sent to Ukraine rather than the other way around. He said, “And that’s why I think there’s just, you know, real question marks about what. is it that is going to come out of this if we’re going to be shaking down the Ukrainian government?”
Brennan then went on to bemoan the European “allies” of America being asked to contribute to their own security rather than relying near-entirely on the United States. He said, “I was in Europe earlier this week, and I must tell you that the frustration and anger with the United States has never been more palpable.”
Continuing, he showed no self-reflection while bemoaning the “180 reverse” of US foreign policy, something people like him abhor but the American people, particularly Trump voters, are broadly in support of. He said, “It’s off the scale because they really just see that there’s been such a reverse, a 180 reverse of what the United States has stood for, especially in terms of European security, that this Trump administration has a much different attitude and approach that really is quite off putting to them.”
Brennan then freaked out over Trump’s negotiating gambit as regards Palestine, saying, “Basically we’re telling 2 million Palestinians we’re not only going to ignore your right to self-determination, we’re going to kick you out of your homeland that you’ve been in for many, many generations and so, therefore, I think it really is quite dangerous.”

Concluding he wrung his hands and clutched his pearls about Trump taking a harder line, more assertive stance regarding foreign policy, saying, “I think it is very dangerous because it is engendering now a real feeling of animosity among a lot of individuals who are there toward the United States. That is not going to go away.”
