WATCH: Purple State RINO “Goes Haywire” on the Senate Floor and Starts Shouting, Insulting President Trump’s Staff

North Carolina RINO Senator Thom Tillis went absolutely ballistic on the Senate floor, shouting excessively and making statements that insulted President Trump’s staff and fiercely criticized the president for numerous aspects of his “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which Sen. Tillis recently determined he would vote against.

For context, on June 29, 2025, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) spoke out in opposition to the “One Big Beautiful Bill” on the Senate floor shortly before saying that he would vote against the bill, along with several other Senate Republicans. Shockingly, on the same day, the senator also announced his retirement after President Trump ripped into him for his lack of support for the bill.

Speaking in the Senate about his opposition to the bill, Sen. Tillis rebuked the Trump Administration and said that he would withhold his vote unless changes were made to the proposed cuts to Medicaid. He said, “What do I tell 663,000 people in two years or three years, when President Trump breaks his promise by pushing them off of Medicaid because the funding’s not there anymore, guys?”

Continuing, the senator said that he thinks “the people in the White House…advising the president are not telling him that the effect of this bill is to break a promise.” Moreover, Sen. Tillis said that he had done his own research on the potential impact of the bill on Medicaid and had presented them to experts at the White House, who “admitted that we were right,” he said, clarifying that they added that his state is just “going to have to make it work.”

Then, the senator said that his fellow Republicans who were supportive of the bill “are about to make a mistake on health care” and were “betraying a promise.” He added, “It is inescapable that this bill in its current form will betray the very promise that Donald J. Trump made in the Oval Office or in the Cabinet Room, when I was there with finance, where he said we can go after waste, fraud, and abuse on any programs.”

Moreover, Sen. Tillis blatantly insulted President Trump’s key advisers, saying, “Now, those amateurs that are advising him — not Dr. Oz, I’m talking about White House health care experts — refuse to tell him that those instructions, that were to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse, all of a sudden eliminates a government program that’s called the provider tax.”

When conservative journalist Eric Daugherty shared a clip of Sen. Tillis’s anti-Big Beautiful Bill rant on X, he described the senator as going “HAYWIRE.” In response, conservatives sounded off in the comments section, with the Pro America Politics account writing, “Real tough to come out screaming and yelling after you announced you’re too big of a coward to run for reelection.”

Furthermore, after criticizing the bill in the Senate chamber, the senator announced his retirement in an official statement, explaining, “In Washington over the last few years, it’s become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species.” He added, “As many of my colleagues have noticed over the last year, and at times even joked about, I haven’t exactly been excited about running for another term.”
