Leftist TikTokers and wokies on Twitter have discovered an old clip from Mr. Rodgers’ Neighborhood, the show beloved by kids around the country for decades now, and they’re furious about it. Why? Because he says that boys are boys and stay boys in the clip. Here that is:
TRIGGER WARNING. ⚠️ This is the most upsetting thing you will see all weekend. pic.twitter.com/eVLPZ3J3RI

As a side note: if the most upsetting thing you see all weekend is a war hero saying that boys will be boys on a kids’ show, then you live an incredibly soft and privileged life and probably shouldn’t be pulling your hair out over the clip.
In any case, the song Rodgers is singing in the clip is “Everybody’s Fancy” and is about the differences between the sexes. In it, he sings:
“Boys are boys from the beginning. If you were born a boy, you stay a boy. Girls are girls right from the start. If you were born a girl, you stay a girl, and grow up to be a lady. Everybody’s fancy, Everybody’s fine. Your body’s fancy and so is mine.”
“Only girls can be the mommies. Only boys can be the daddies,” the song continues.
That should be common sense stuff. Boys are boys, girls are girls, and that’s not going to change. But we live in clown world, so of course the left is treating it as the “worst thing” they have ever seen and screeching about it being a “trigger”.
But, as other commenters on Twitter noted, Mr. Rodgers sensed that something was going wrong and tried to warn us about it while on Johnny Carson. “The One Who Knocks” drew people’s attention to that clip, saying:
“The man knew something and tried to warn us.”
“Mister Rogers knew something way back in 1980 and tried to warn us. We laughed at him because we thought what he said was silly and nonsense.
“Now we live in a silly and nonsensical reality.”

As you can hear in the clip, Rodgers said, while explaining the song about gender differences to Johnny Carson “Sometimes children think that they might change — they might have to change after a while. And you know, we laugh about that now, but it’s because we had that concern when we were little.”
Johnny Carson, replying in jest, said “Yeah, because you’re really not sure and you thought maybe you’d become a girl, or a girl would become a boy, right?”
Rodgers, responding, said “Exactly.” So, he created the song as a lesson and warning, one we unfortunately failed to heed.
Commenting on the above videos, people supporting Mr. Rodgers said things like:
“He was a child psychologist and a pastor. He knew what God made and that He makes no mistakes. And he surely knew children. A wise and loving man that is missed in today’s world.”
“If only people were as intelligent as Mr. Rogers. Of course there is the Bible written over centuries ago. I guess Mr. Rogers agreed with God!”
