In a truly heartwarming moment, First Lady Melania Trump was filmed helping kids set up festive Independence Day Decorations outside of the Children’s National Hospital, kindly working alongside the kids in a way that led one commenter to say, “Her love for children is obvious.”
For background, on July 3, 2025, Fox News personality Laura Ingraham posted a video of First Lady Melania Trump working with children to set up July 4th decorations outside of Children’s National Hospital. In the video, Melania can be seen acting with both kindness and poise, gently placing American flags in a display alongside a young patient.
In response to the video, conservatives praised Melania and called her kindness “a breath of fresh air,” with the X user RubyTubee writing, “Elegance is back in the White House.” Another commenter chimed in, “Now this is a real first lady!”
The day after the video was filmed, President Trump and his first lady participated in the Military Family Picnic, an annual Independence Day event, and Melania stood beside the president as he delivered his remarks to the crowd. As a singer delivered a phenomenal rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” Melania and the president looked on reverently at the flag, and the first lady held her hand over her heart.
As President Trump began his remarks, he noted that military enlistment “is at an all-time record,” adding, “We’re packed. We’re full. And I just think that’s so important because, uh, that was so sad one year ago…we had a different president, but uh, nobody wanted to join. And now we’re at a record.”
Continuing, the President took a moment to celebrate “our magnificent first lady,” saying, “She worked hard to make this all work,” adding, “We have so many people in the audience that have so much to do with the success of our country. We’ve, I think, had probably the most successful almost six months as a president and the presidency.”
Then, the president continued his victory lap, saying, “I know for a fact, they’re saying the last two weeks there has never been anything like it as winning, winning.” He later added, “And before I start, I want to tell you that uh I’ve never seen people so happy in our country because of that,” referring to his impending signing of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.” He continued, “Because so many different groups of people are being taken care of, the military and civilians of all types, jobs of all types. We’re adding things like the biggest tax cut in the history of our country, child tax credits. So many things are being added that we wouldn’t even have time to discuss when we were doing it.”

Near the conclusion of his speech, the president thanked the first lady once again, saying, ” We’re going to make America great again, and it’s happening very fast. We love you. We thank you for being here. Enjoy the fireworks tonight. And first lady, I want to thank you. You have been unbelievable. You think it’s easy being first lady. It’s not.”
