A bizarre robot nicknamed “Rizzbot” has been spotted in Los Angeles sporting a brown cowboy hat and rainbow stripes and having wacky encounters with people on the street in which it spouts Gen Z slang and shows off its dance moves, leaving the internet both entertained and confused.
For background, on July 15, 2025, press accounts confirmed that a strange robot with the nickname “Rizzbot” had been wandering around West Hollywood, with NBC 4 Los Angeles reporting that the robot comes from Unitree Robotics, a Chinese company that describes the bot as being “AI-powered.” The “Rizzbot” calls himself Jake and is emblazoned with LGBT colors, along with the words “Not Elon’s Bi—” across his chest.
In addition, according to NBC 4, the “Rizzbot” most likely costs somewhere between a few thousand dollars and a whopping $100,000 based on the Unitree Robotics website. Moreover, when asked whether he was surprised by the presence of a pride-themed robot in LA, West Hollywood resident Michael Fiscina told NBC, “It doesn’t surprise me, no,” adding, “I expect to see a parade of them in about two years at the Gay Pride parade.”
When conservative commentator Collin Rugg posted a video of the “Rizzbot,” which he described as a “gay robot,” wandering around Los Angeles and “confronting people,” commenters were both confused and entertained. The X user Old School Eddie wrote, “Can robots be gay? Do they even have genders? I am so confused… 😂” Another commenter chimed in, “This robot was most likely given a high-profile position in Biden’s administration,” to which Rugg retorted, “He does walk like Biden.”
Additionally, Futurism reported that the “Rizzbot” has been using some “truly cringeworthy” slang in interactions with passersby and has been calling itself “Jake.” According to the outlet, the bot walked up to one Angelino and said, “Hey, I’m Jake, it’s nice to meet you,” adding, “Yo G, that sleeveless plaid shirt is straight bangin’. And you flexin’ that build like a boss, and that watch on your wrist? Iced out, nephew!”
Furthermore, Futurism reported that the bot told another onlooker, “Ma homie, that beard is cold and that mustache is hard, you look clean, nephew,” adding, “Gee, that black smartwatch is straight iced out, and that white tee’s bangin.” To another passerby, it said, “You radiate that big boss energy, my dude. Serious expression, but you looking hard.”
Importantly, Jake the Rizzbot also reportedly has been spotted walking around Austin, Texas, with Chron reporting that he demonstrated a “surprisingly fluent grasp of Gen Z slang” on the streets of Austin. However, unlike the bot caught on video in LA, the Austin Rizzbot has no LGBT symbols emblazoned on its body.

Chron also confirmed that “Jake” is a Unitree G1 model, standing four feet tall and weighing 77 pounds. According to the outlet, the G1 model was unveiled in May 2024 and described by Unitree as an “AI avatar.” The base model of the G1 reportedly costs $16,000, but its price can climb up into the six-figure range with add-ons.
