In yet another explosive fight that occurred during the Senate Judiciary Committee’s FBI Oversight hearing, the same one in which Sen. Adam Schiff got rocked by Kash Patel and Sen. Chuck Grassley exposed that the Obama FBI was spying on Charlie Kirk’s TPUSA, Sen. Cory Booker and Kash Patel got in a shouting match that ended with Patel leaving Booker humiliated.
For reference, the fight between Sen. Booker (D-NJ) and FBI Director Kash Patel came during the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Tuesday, September 16, hearing on FBI Oversight, an explosive one given the many problems and grievances that both conservatives and liberals have with the Bureau.
Amongst the many spats that roiled the hearing was one that came when Sen. Booker pressed Patel on the many controversies surrounding his time as director of the Bureau, with the woke senator alleging that Patel had made America “weaker and less safe,” and thus that he would soon find himself booted from the position. That led to a high-octane yelling match between the two.
Sen. Booker, for his part, accused Patel of being to willing to go along with Trump’s unconstitutional demands far too often, saying, “I think you’re not going to be around long. I think this might be your last oversight hearing, because as much as you supplicate yourself to the will of Donald Trump and not the Constitution of the United States of America, Donald Trump has shown us in his first term, and in this term, he is not loyal to people like you.”
That came shortly after Sen. Booker berated Patel for pushing Deep State apparatchiks out of the FBI. He said, “I believe you have made our country weaker and less safe. I believe that we are more vulnerable to a major event, and I pray to God it doesn’t happen. You’ve gutted the Bureau of institutional knowledge and expertise.”
He continued, alleging that those who had been there as hacks for decades deserved to stay, “You fired or pushed out seasoned FBI officials, many with more than 20 years of experience, and we’re working on cases that were critical. You’ve been purging thousands of serious law enforcement officials who spent their careers keeping us safe.”
In any case, ending his lengthy rant, Sen. Booker snapped that President Trump, in addition to not being loyal, would fire Patel, saying, “He will cut you loose. This may be the last time I have a hearing with you, because I don’t think you’re long for your job, but I’m going to tell you this. I pray for you. I pray for you that you can step up and defend your oath, defend the Constitution, and do a much better job of defending this country.”

Director Patel began his short but fiery response by saying, “That rant of false information does not bring this country together. If you want to work on bringing this country…” Then, as Sen. Booker started trying to interject, Patel snapped, “It’s my time, not yours!” Booker, offended, snapped back, “My God, my God!”
That then led to an explosive fight between Patel, Booker, and other Republicans in the room, and it ended with Sen. Booker being humiliated, steaming in his seat as he was told to keep quiet so that Patel could respond. Finally doing so, after the explosive screaming match, Patel rattled off the many ways his FBI has succeeded, particularly in counternarcotics and counter-intelligence operations.
