A CNN panel erupted into a furious panic after their conservative co-host demolished their faulty logic and exposed their lies about President Trump in a heated debate about the role that Democrats’ rhetoric played in the multiple assassination attempts that preceded Trump’s election.
For context, in a CNN NewsNight segment aired on September 18, 2024, a panel of majority leftist anchors discussed messaging used in Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, focusing on insinuations from Harris that if Donald Trump was elected, a “bloodbath” would follow. During the tense discussion, conservative CNN anchor Scott Jennings pushed back at his co-hosts, who discounted the idea that Harris’ statements contributed to the attempts on Donald Trump’s life.
During the live CNN panel, Scott Jennings began his dismantling of his co-hosts’ ideas by pointing out the repeated “bloodbath” messaging from Harris during her campaign. Jennings explained, “The underpinning of her campaign — she repeats it herself: ‘Trump will be a dictator on day one.’ I mean, this country fights dictators. That’s our history — we fight.”
Continuing, Jennings pointed out that Harris mobilized leftists and put Trump’s life at risk through the aggressive rhetoric she used. Jennings told his co-hosts that Harris said, “[Trump] wants to terminate the U.S. Constitution. It is said by every Democrat working for or around her campaign every single day on this network and every other one. The “bloodbath” thing is stated every single day.”
Responding to Jennings, leftist anchor Abby Phillip attempted to discount her conservative co-host’s statements by twisting the narrative and making an incoherent argument, saying, “Let’s just clear this up. I’m going to explain it to people because I think there’s confusion about the use of the word bloodbath when [Trump] was talking about, you know, vehicle manufacturing jobs in the United States.”
For background on Phillip’s comments, according to a CNN article from March 17, 2024, President Trump has been quoted as saying that there would be a “bloodbath” for the auto industry — and the United States as a whole — if he were to lose the 2024 election. President Trump went on to clarify, “If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country.”
Moving forward and trying to hide the holes in her argument, Phillip explained that then-Vice President Harris “improperly and unfairly mischaracterized [Trump] as saying that there would be a bloodbath if he were elected.” Confusingly, Phillip then went on to contradict herself, saying, “However, [Harris] did not say that if Trump were elected, there would be a bloodbath.”

When conservative commentator Benny Johnson shared a clip of the discussion on X, it quickly went viral, with commenters sounding off on the leftist panel of CNN hosts. One user with the handle AmericanPapa Bear wrote, “Lies, false accusations, and TDS hatred,” with another commenter adding, “All they have is lies. Don’t vote for the hoax purveyor party.”
