During the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on holding the FBI accountable via oversight, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) tried going on the attack against FBI Director Kash Patel, and ended up getting rolled by the FBI Director, who humiliated him and exposed him as a “corrupt” “fraud” to all who were watching. Schiff then appeared on cable news to whine about Patel’s roasting of him.
As background, during the hearing, Patel snapped, “You are the biggest fraud to ever the United States Senate. You are a disgrace to this institution and an utter coward.” He later thundered, “I’m not surprised. You continue to lie from your perch and put on a show so you can go raise money for your charade. You are a political buffoon at best.”
After getting humiliated by the FBI Director in such epic fashion, Sen. Schiff appeared on MSNBC’s “All In” to whine about Kash Patel and declare that he was an “incompetent” internet troll, a clear attempt to make up for the fact that the FBI Director had just roasted him in front of the American nation.
That came when MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked the senator if he is confident in how the FBI is being run, asking, “Do you have confidence that this institution is being run at the sort of just blocking and tackling day to day counterterrorism, you know, stopping big plots, big bad things that might happen that that it’s functioning?”
Responding, Schiff did his best to attack Patel. Beginning, he freaked out over the news that Patel has fired thousands of Deep State hacks in the FBI, snapping, “No, I don’t know how any of us can have that confidence for a number of reasons. One is not only is Patel incompetent, but he is firing all the competent people.”
Continuing with that same point, Sen. Schiff acted like it is bizarre for Patel to not trust the agents involved in the political persecution of Donald Trump, saying, “A lot of the questioning today, including my own, was focused on his firing senior leaders at the FBI for no other reason than the fact they were assigned cases investigating Donald Trump.”
Continuing, Schiff alleged that Patel was lying, though the senator didn’t explain what those lies were about, saying, “Now, he, I think, lied about that clearly today. He’s being sued by three senior FBI agents who will take him to court and depose him. I think that will reveal those lies.”

Then, still angry about the fact that Patel has fired hacks in the agency, Sen. Schiff snapped that it is a bad thing that soome have veen fired and others reassigned to defending America, saying, absurdly, “But he’s firing the experienced people. And more than that, he’s taking agents off of these important investigations like sex trafficking, like counterterrorism, like malicious foreign interference. And what is he doing with them? He’s putting them on immigration raids.”
Still not done with that tiresome talking point, Sen. Schiff then alleged, “So it’s the diversion of resources, the incompetence at the very top, and the getting rid of people who are the true professionals. I have to imagine morale at the bureau is just at a all time low, because how can you respect someone like Patel?”
Concluding, the senator tried to get his own jab in at Patel after Patel had gotten so many in at him, saying, “My concluding comments to him after our our back and forth is you can take an internet troll and make him FBI director, but he’s still not going to be anything more than an internet troll and that just makes us a lot less safe.”
