Woke Senator Adam Schiff had a bizarre reaction after being called out for alleged mortgage fraud by President Trump, staying completely silent when a Fox News reporter approached him and asked him multiple questions about allegations that he broke the law by listing his primary residence as a property in Maryland while holding public office in California.
For background, on July 16, 2025, a Fox News Digital reporter approached Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and asked him multiple questions about his alleged mortgage fraud, which was previously called out by President Trump in a Truth Social post the day before. However, Sen. Schiff was unwilling to answer any of the reporter’s questions and instead took to X to rail against the president.
The senator’s reaction to questions from Fox — stonefaced and silent — — came after President Trump accused Sen. Schiff of mortgage fraud, apparently based on a whistleblower report released in 2024, “I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist,” he began,” And now I learn that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud.”
Continuing, the president cited details from the whistleblower report, saying, “Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA.”
The president went on to say that he had had a hunch that the senator was corrupt: “I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020.”
Finally, the president issued a warning to the senator, saying, “Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice.” In response, although the senator would not respond to questions from Fox, he wrote a multi-post rebuttal on X beginning on July 15. “Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,” the senator said.
Continuing, the senator said that the accusations against him from President Trump are “a bit of a letdown, adding, “And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable. Not by a long shot.” In a subsequent post, he wrote, “This is just Donald Trump’s latest attempt at political retaliation against his perceived enemies.”

Concluding his rebuttal, the senator said, “So it is not a surprise, only how weak this false allegation turns out to be.” Finally, Sen. Schiff took a shot at the president for the Epstein files debacle, saying, “And much as Trump may hope, this smear will not distract from his Epstein files problem.”
