President Trump demolished detractor Liz Cheney yet again by rescinding her security clearance, doing the same for former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and several others, along with cutting off Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden.
For context, Liz Cheney, the daughter of former VP Dick Cheney, has been extremely vocal in her opposition to President Trump and his administration. Cheney, a self-proclaimed conservative, endorsed and campaigned for Kamala Harris’ failed run in the 2024 presidential race. Cheney’s constant criticism of President Trump has stood in direct opposition to the conservative principles she claims to uphold.
In a presidential memo released on March 22, 2025, President Trump wrote decisively about rescinding security clearance from several prominent politicos, including Cheney, for the sake of protecting the national interest. the president began by giving a list of those he was stripping of their important clearances, naming: “Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family.”
Continuing, President Trump ordered that any action necessary be taken to protect classified information from Cheney and the other listed individuals. He stated, “I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information.”
Prior to the release of the memo, President Trump also clarified via Truth Social that Hunter and Ashley Biden would no longer have Secret Service agents at their disposal. In his March 17, 2025, post, the president explained that American taxpayers have been footing the bill for the Bidens’ protection, writing, “Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period of time, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer. There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous!”
Never afraid to call out the absurdity of the left, President Trump continued by highlighting that Hunter Biden (and his Secret Service detail) were in South Africa at the time. The president explained, “He is currently vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the Human Rights of people has been strenuously questioned. Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of Countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance.”
Commenting on President Trump’s changes to security clearance and Secret Service protection, Politico highlighted the unprecedented nature of the situation, writing, “It is unclear what formal security clearance was possessed by some of the figures named in the memo. Trump had already announced his intention to rescind security clearance for Biden in February, and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said on March 10 that she had revoked access for Blinken, James, and others per Trump’s directive.”

Unsurprisingly, President Trump’s decision to rescind security clearance and pull Secret Service protection for former President Biden’s children has been met with major backlash from the left, with critical stories published by CNN, The Guardian, and other outlets.
