President Trump’s CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, has hinted that prosecutions against figures involved in the Trump-Russia collusion scandal will most likely be taking place in the near future, thanks to a new strategy, adding that more incriminating evidence against Hillary Clinton, James Comey, John Brennan, and others may be released soon.
For background, on July 27, 2025, CIA Director John Ratcliffe spoke to Fox News personality Maria Bartiromo and explained that the statute of limitations is unlikely to stop prosecutions from moving forward against former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and others involved in the infamous “Russiagate” scandal. Director Ratcliffe also explained that the recent criminal referrals made by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard make it possible to investigate the key figures behind the scandal.
Speaking to Bartiromo, Director Ratcliffe explained that previous testimonies from Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and John Brennan all appeared to be “completely inconsistent” with new evidence, saying, “John Brennan testified to John Durham in August of 2020. He also testified to the House Oversight Committee in 2022. Hillary Clinton testified before John Durham under oath in 2022. James Comey testified before the Senate Committee in September 2020.”
Continuing, Director Ratcliffe said that the testimonies given by Clinton and former intelligence directors were “frankly completely inconsistent with what our underlying intelligence that is about to be declassified in the Durham Annex.” Moreover, the director said that based on criminal referrals made against Brennan, Comey, and Clinton, he is able to demand “accountability” and carry out potential prosecutions.
Next, the CIA director clarified that because DNI Tulsi Gabbard made criminal referrals against the key figures in the Russiagate scandal, his agency will “continue to share the intelligence that would support the ability of our Department of Justice to bring fair and just claims against those who have perpetrated this hoax against the American people and this stain on our country.”
Previously, Director Ratcliffe announced on X that he had conducted a thorough assessment of the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that was used against President Trump, concluding that it was full of issues. He wrote on July 2, 2025, “Today’s report underscores that the 2016 IC Assessment was conducted through an atypical & corrupt process under the politically charged environments of former Dir. Brennan & former FBI Dir. Comey.”
Continuing, the CIA director said that he was “committed to ensuring that our analysts have the ability to deliver unvarnished assessments that are free from political influence, going on to add in a subsequent post that “all the world can now see the truth” about the former intelligence directors: “Brennan, Clapper, and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump.”

Furthermore, press accounts confirmed that intelligence officials have met to discuss “new information on Russiagate” as recently as July 16, 2025, with one meeting leading to the conclusion, in the words of a senior Trump Administration official, that former President Obama had “ordered the ICA to set Trump up and knock him off balance before he could even get started.” The anonymous source added, “This was an influence operation far more consequential than anything [Russian President Vladimir] Putin cooked up. Obama and Hillary [Clinton] schemed the op, and the CIA and FBI ran it.”
