In a major victory for the America First movement, former New Jersey state Rep. Jack Ciattarelli has won the New Jersey Republican gubernatorial primary election, beating out opponent Bill Spadea, a fellow Republican, by a landslide after receiving an official endorsement from President Trump.
For context, on June 10, 2025, press accounts confirmed that Jack Ciattarelli had won New Jersey’s governor primary election, receiving 67.8% of the total votes and beating Republicans Jon Bramnick, Bill Spadea, and Mario Kranjac. Moreover, Mikie Sherrill won the Democratic primary.
Reporting on the results of the election, the Associated Press decision team wrote that Ciattarelli won with “a nearly 45-point lead over his closest competitor, adding that the former state representative “led in all 10 of the counties that had released at least some vote, by margins ranging from 13 to 70 points.”
In addition, AP’s decision team clarified that due to large margins, the election was called after it was determined to be impossible that the other candidates, “none of whom had more than 15%, could plausibly make up the gap in the votes left to be counted.” Furthermore, the decision team pointed out that the New Jersey counties with the most GOP voters were Ocean, Morris, and Monmouth, which were all described as “GOP-friendly areas in the southern parts of New Jersey.”
Moreover, President Trump officially endorsed Ciattarelli in a Truth Social post on May 12, 2025, describing him as “a terrific America First Candidate running to be the next Governor of a State that I love, NEW JERSEY!” Continuing, the president said, “Jack, who after getting to know and understand MAGA, has gone ALL IN, and is now 100% (PLUS!).”
Continuing, President Trump said that Ciattarelli is “strongly supported by the most Highly Respected Leaders in New Jersey,” adding, “Also, Jack is the Republican Candidate who is best positioned to STAND TALL against the Radical Left Democrats and, most importantly, ensure a Big Victory in this Very Important Gubernatorial Election, an Election that is being closely watched by the entire World because, we are ending WOKE, and all of the other NONSENSE that goes along with it, AND NOBODY WANTS TO SEE IT COME BACK!”
Concluding his post, the president wrote, “Jack Ciattarelli is a WINNER, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, ELECT JACK CIATTARELLI!” In response, Ciattarelli said he was “truly humbled and honored to receive President Trump’s very strong endorsement today.”

Continuing his statement in a May 12, 2025, post on X, Ciattarelli addressed Republicans directly, saying, “It’s time to unite our party, win big in November, and make New Jersey affordable and safe again.” He added, “When I’m Governor, we will.” GOP strategist Alex Zdan commented in support of Ciattarelli, saying, “I know you’ll make New Jersey Proud.”
