A major investigation by the New York Times, by Nicholas Confessore and Julie Tate, which was based on interviews with over 30 Epstein associates and new documents, detailed Donald Trump’s 1990s-early 2000s social ties to Jeffrey Epstein but explicitly proved there is no evidence implicating Trump in Epstein’s abuse or trafficking of minors.
Despite extensive left-wing reporting on their past friendship, the piece notes significant fallout: Epstein was banned from Mar-a-Lago. Democrats have cynically highlighted old photos, quotes, and a 2017 Epstein email criticizing Trump, but these contradict claims of close criminal ties.
Dramatically exploding the DNC narrative on Epstein, the New York Times article, written by Nicholas Confessore and Julie Tate, declared, “An examination of their history by The New York Times has found no evidence implicating Mr. Trump in Mr. Epstein’s abuse and trafficking of minors.”
Additionally, the writer notes an email from Epstein to Larry Summers from February 8, 2017, which stated, “recall I’ve told you… i have met some very bad people… none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body… so yes– dangerous.”
However, despite the crucial context, Democrats cynically tried to lie about the contents. “Newly released emails show Jeffrey Epstein thought Trump was one of the worst people he knew, with ‘not one decent cell in his body,’ …He went on to describe Trump with one word: ‘Dangerous,’” a now-deleted tweet stated.
However, as we reported at the American Tribune, the noose is tightening around Democrats connected to the Epstein scandal. GOP House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, has moved to hold the Clintons in contempt for refusign to cooperate with the investigation.
“It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes. Throughout that time, the former president and former secretary of state have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony,” Comer declared.

Continuing his comments, he made the consequences clear. “If the Clintons fail to appear for their depositions next week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable,” he stated.
Speaking later to the media, he added, “We communicated to the Clintons’ attorney today that they must appear next week or provide a date in early January to appear for their depositions or we will begin contempt of Congress proceedings. They’ve been dragging their feet for over four months. Time’s up.” Building on this point, Comer said, “They think they are above the law and are trying to get out of their depositions by using dilatory tactics.”
In an earlier letter to Clinton’s attorney David Kendall, he wrote, “Given their history with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, any attempt by the Clintons to avoid sitting for a deposition would be in defiance of lawful subpoenas and grounds to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings.”
