Top Trump Administration officials are reportedly putting together a massive case against former President Obama and former FBI and CIA directors James Comey and John Brennan, with a 200-page congressional audit being compiled that contains evidence that the Obama administration attempted to steer the 2016 election by portraying President Trump as “beholden” to Russian collusion.
For background, on July 16, 2025, Real Clear Investigations reported that Trump Administration officials held a meeting to discuss “new information on Russiagate,” which led to the compiling of what was described as a “secret 200-page congressional audit” detailing how the ICA (Intelligence Community Assessment) was used to falsely portray President Trump as being influenced by the Kremlin.
Importantly, the new evidence centers around the Steele Dossier, a collection of information that was later revealed to be politically motivated after it was used to attack President Trump as part of the ICA. In addition, a CIA review of the ICA concluded that the document was full of flaws. The agency explained, “When confronted with specific flaws in the Dossier by the two mission center leaders—one with extensive operational experience and the other with a strong analytic background—he appeared more swayed by the Dossier’s general conformity with existing theories than by legitimate tradecraft concerns.”
Moreover, RCI reported that the meeting that took place to discuss new evidence against the Obama administration included members of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board and the Department of Justice’s Weaponization Working Group. Furthermore, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) oversaw the meeting, with an administration official confirming to RCI that the ODNI “has a team working on” declassifying potentially incriminating documents.
In addition, a senior Trump Administration official explained the investigation further to RCI, saying that Obama had “ordered the ICA to set Trump up and knock him off balance before he could even get started.” The anonymous source added, “This was an influence operation far more consequential than anything [Russian President Vladimir] Putin cooked up. Obama and Hillary [Clinton] schemed the op, and the CIA and FBI ran it.”
Likewise, Former FBI special-agent-in-charge Jody P. Weis told RCI that he believed that there was a sufficient case for the heads of Obama’s FBI and CIA with criminal conspiracy, saying, “You look back at what was going on in the FBI starting in 2016 [with] these cases [and] the way they approached Gen. [Michael] Flynn; Crossfire Hurricane; the Russian ‘collusion’ case [prosecuted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller]; then moving to the raid on Mar-a-Lago [and] the [DOJ] lawfare that came after President Trump, this is outrageous.”
Continuing, Weis, a 22-year veteran of the FBI, singled out the former directors of the FBI and CIA, saying, “And then you had the arrogance of these two individuals – Comey and Brennan – it was unbelievable.” He added, “So I’m extremely happy that someone is looking into this.”

In addition, current CIA Director John Ratcliffe responded to his agency’s recent report on the ICA in an X post, saying, “All the world can now see the truth: Brennan, Clapper, and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump.” He added, “Thank you to the career @CIA officers who conducted this review and exposed the facts.”
