“RINO Traitors” Slammed as Over Two Dozen GOP Senator Refuse to “Codify All the DOGE Cuts”

A swath of RINO senators from across the country have voted against the foreign aid budget cuts proposed by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), leaving supporters of President Trump frustrated over the apparent lack of cohesion within the Republican party, with one conservative influencer calling those opposed to the spending cuts “RINO traitors.”

For context, on June 4, 2025, press accounts confirmed that a large group of Republican senators were opposed to President Trump’s proposed cuts to foreign aid spending, including Sen. Rand Paul (KY), Sen. Ron Johnson (WI), Sen. Rick Scott (FL), and several others. However, President Trump has stood his ground, pushing back against senators like Paul online.

When Sen. Paul voiced opposition to the “Big, Beautiful Bill’s” funding cuts on X on June 3, 2023, he said, “The math doesn’t add up. I’m not supporting a bill that increases the debt by $5T. I refuse to support maintaining Biden spending levels.” In response, President Trump reportedly shot back on Truth Social, saying, “Rand votes NO on everything, but never has any practical or constructive ideas. His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him. This is a BIG GROWTH BILL!”

Along with Sen. Paul, Sen. Ron Johnson told reporters that the “Big, Beautiful Bill” was, in his opinion, “just rhetoric,” adding,”It’s completely false advertising. It’s literally divorced from reality.” He continued: “We’re currently projecting $2.2 trillion. … Obama is under a trillion. Trump had increased it, Biden increased dramatically. Trump’s not doing anything to fix that.”

Moreover, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) spoke critically of the budget cuts as well, reportedly telling the press that, when it comes to cuts to Medicaid, he is “very worried,” adding, “I won’t vote for that.” Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) also expressed concerns about the cuts, saying that she was “not certain” the bill would achieve its goals and arguing that it “tries to thread the needle.”

After the group of Senate Republicans voted against codifying the DOGE foreign aid spending cuts, conservative influencer Murch condemned their decision on X and listed their names, saying, “These are the GOP Senators who will not Codify all the DOGE cuts.” he added, “Primary them and vote these RINO Traitors out once and for all.”

In addition, in an interview with Fox News on June 4, 2025, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA)  warned the GOP members who opposed the DOGE cuts that they would be “in trouble,” saying, “I can tell you right now, we can’t cut enough foreign aid, and I think that’s what Americans want to see.” She added, “But if Republicans can’t find the political will to vote for a $9 billion package, I think the Republicans are going to be in trouble, because the American people are very adamant about these DOGE cuts.”

Furthermore, the backlash against RINO senators kicked off shortly after former DOGE leader Elon Musk took to X to condemn the bill himself, saying, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.” Musk added, “Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
