“Perfect Example of Our Corrupted Judiciary”: Report Reveals Anti-Trump Judge’s Deep Ties to Democrat Politicians

A plethora of evidence shows that Judge William Orrick, who blocked President Trump’s executive order defunding sanctuary cities, is a hardcore Democrat activist and campaign funder with long-running ties to the party, which has led conservatives to call him out for his lack of impartiality and partisan motivations.

For background, on April 24, 2025, press accounts confirmed that President Trump’s executive order calling for the defunding of so-called sanctuary cities that refuse to comply with his immigration policies had been blocked by U.S. District Judge William Orrick in San Francisco. After Judge Orrick issued his injunction, conservative commentator and entrepreneur Rod D. Martin issued a lengthy exposé on Judge Orrick on social media, calling him out for his “DEEP” ties to the Democratic Party.

Writing on X in a thread that garnered over 760,000 views, Martin announced, “BREAKING: The judge who blocked Trump’s sanctuary city order has DEEP Democratic ties that’ll make your jaw drop.” Referring to Judge Orrick, he added, “This is a perfect example of our corrupted judiciary.”

Next, citing Fox News, Martin wrote on April 24 that Judge Orrick “isn’t just any Obama appointee,” adding, “He’s donated a STAGGERING $113,600 to Democratic candidates and committees.” Martin also confirmed that Judge Orrick had raised at least $200,000 for Obama and had donated $30,000 of his own money to “groups supporting him.”

Moreover, Martin pointed out that Judge Orrick had given $30,800 to Obama’s Victory Fund in 2008, adding that he “didn’t just support Obama – he bundled for him. He’s a lifelong activist. And he didn’t stop when he got on the bench.” Martin went on to note that Judge Orrick had been “padding Democratic pockets for years,” having donated to the campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Diane Feinstein.

Also, in his thread, Martin noted that Judge Orrick was not “content just writing checks,” explaining that he co-chaired the “Lawyers for Kerry” and “Lawyers for Obama” organizations, and was also one of the individuals who “introduced Kamala Harris at fundraisers.” He mused, “This is not an impartial man.”

Furthermore, Martin pushed against “the establishment,” making the case that Democrats want “you to ignore these connections,” adding, “They’ll call it ‘conspiracy theory.’ Who are you gonna believe, them or your lying eyes?” He concluded, “But the evidence is right there in federal records. Numbers don’t lie.”

Additionally, Martin cited The Center for Medical Progress, which reported that Judge Orrick had “founded a Planned Parenthood…referral clinic that fed pregnant patients into fetus harvesting programs.” Moreover, the organization accused Judge Orrick of breaking the law “by hearing cases where he had a financial interest.” Allegedly, Orrick “censored hundreds of hours of undercover footage of Planned Parenthood’s sale of baby body parts.”
