New Data Reveals Americans Are Being Saved by Trumps Border Defense Policies

Stunning new data presented by a Fox News journalist revealed the impact that President Trump’s strict border policies have had on the safety of U.S. citizens, with a Border Patrol report indicating that the president’s leadership has led to “the most secure border in U.S. history” with a reported zero illegal immigrants released into the United States in May 2025.

For context, in a powerful op-ed for Fox News published on June 21, 2025, David Marcus pointed out that President Trump’s work to secure the border has saved countless lives, describing the difference in illegal migration into the United States between May 2025 and May 2024 as nearly reaching the point of “Monty Python-level absurdity.” Moreover, Marcus pointed out that while 62,000 illegal migrants entered the U.S. in May 2024 under former President Biden, that number was zero in May 2025.

Writing for Fox, Marcus said that when Biden, whom he humorously referred to as “Grandpa Joe Biden,” was “running the show,” it was normal for Border Patrol officers to have “over 10,000 encounters a day on the southern border.” However, Marcus clarified that “last Sunday, there were a total of 95, the lowest number ever recorded over 24 hours.”

Building on his point, Marcus argued that if Kamala Harris were in office, “a million illegals would have come in by now.” Marcus then stressed the inherent danger of an open border, asking, “How many gang members? How many rapists? How many deadly doses of fentanyl?” He added, “Let us not forget how vociferously we were informed that what Trump has done, shutting down the border, was absolutely impossible without acts of Congress.”

Furthermore, Marcus fiercely criticized liberal media outlets like the Washington Post for failing to attribute the decline in fentanyl flowing across the border to President Trump’s policies. Driving the point home, Marcus cited the Center for Immigration Studies, which reported that “fentanyl seizures at the southern border are down 50% since November.”

Near the conclusion of his op-ed, Marcus argued that a clear connection can be drawn between “less fentanyl coming into the country” and “fewer Americans dying of overdoses,” calling this “a result that everybody should cheer.” However, the columnist clarified that Americans “can be forgiven for not quite knowing how to react to such a resounding and total victory as Trump has achieved on the border.”

Importantly, Marcus released his op-ed just days after Trump Administration border czar Tom Homan said that Border Patrol had “encountered a total of 95 illegal aliens across the entire southern border,” adding, “That is the lowest number EVER recorded. Compare that to the Biden administration, who surpassed more than 10,000 per day.”

Moreover, Homan confirmed the data that Marcus cited in his op-ed, saying that 62,000 aliens were released into the United States in May 2024. “How many were released under Trump for May?” Homan wrote. “Zero.” He added, “To continue this great work and make it more permanent, we need the Big Beautiful Bill passed so we can finish the job, to include the biggest deportation operation the American people voted for. God bless the men and women of CBP and ICE. President Trump is the Game Changer!”
