Picking up on the immense groundswell of popularity and praise that came from his initial comments about Ilhan Omar being a deleterious force in American politics, first-term United States Congressman Brandon Gill, a MAGA congressman from Texas, started a petition movement for Americans to show that they want Rep. Omar arrested and deported. The anger at her stems from a workshop she gave on aiding illegal immigrants, particularly from Somalia, in attempting to avoid Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In the incident at hand, Omar said, “If ICE attempts to question you, you are not obligated to answer their questions. Just state that you are advised by a lawyer not to answer questions.” She continued, “Disclosure of your name, immigration status, and the mode of entry is not mandatory. Learn the laws and prepare yourself and refrain from disclosing information that you prefer them not to know.”
It was to a video of Omar making those comments that Rep. Brandon Gill responded, saying that America would be far better off if the far-left Squad member, who is originally from Somalia, were deported back to that country. He said, “America would be a better place if @IlhanMN were deported back to Somalia.”
In another post about the same video of Omar informing her fellow Somalis how to avoid answering the questions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, Rep. Gill noted that America needs a tougher immigration policy that would never have let her into the country in the first place. He said, “We should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country.”
Rep. Gill then sent an email in which he capitalized on the public’s mood, particularly on the right, being largely in line with and supportive of his comments given how execrable and tiresome Rep. Omar is. Beginning the email, he said, “We should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country. And frankly, America would be a much better place if she were to be sent back to Somalia.”
Continuing, Gill described, for the benefit of those who didn’t keep up with the drama, what it was that he and many others are furious with Omar for. He said, “Just today, it came out that Ilhan Omar is hosting free workshops for Somalians, who are in our country illegally, on how to evade ICE and deportation.”
He then hammered Omar for her apparent divided loyalties, with her relationship with Somalians apparently mattering more to her than the laws of the United States. He said, “It could not be more blatant: Ilhan Omar is more loyal to illegal Somalians than she is to the United States, or the office she was elected to. It is an absolute disgrace.”

Accusing her of treason and arguing she must be arrested and deported, Gill then said, “A sitting Member of Congress is facilitating a full-scale invasion of our country… A normal society would refer to that as treason… But regardless of labels, one thing is clear: The time has come to arrest and deport Ilhan Omar.”
In conclusion, he said, “I have had my fill of foreigners storming our border, complaining about and disparaging our country, and then helping more and more of them invade our lands… And I know the American people are too. If you’re as sick and tired of it as I am, sign my petition and let’s send her back to Somalia where she belongs.”
The petition itself provided, “Ilhan Omar is coaching illegal alien Somalians through how to invade our home and avoid deportation. She is more loyal to a foreign country and foreign invaders than she is to the United States of America… It is a disgrace. I, the undersigned, do hereby add my name to Brandon Gill’s petition, calling for the immediate arrest and deportation of Ilhan Omar.”
