Liz Warren Gets Fact-Checked and Called Out for “Trying to Use” the Wildfires Disaster “To Raise Money for Democrats”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren got slammed online for trying to raise money for the Democratic Party under the guise of a Los Angeles wildfire relief fundraiser, which led X users to call her out and fact-check her blatant lies online, creating yet another embarrassment for the notorious Democrat.

For context, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) wrote a post on X on January 11, 2025, in which she asked her followers to donate money to support those affected by the LA wildfires, which were actively raging at the time. Sen. Warren wrote that all of the funds raised would go directly to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and United Way of Greater Los Angeles. However, the senator failed to mention that the donations were being collected through ActBlue, a Democratic Party fundraising platform that reportedly takes a 4% cut of any funds raised through its online platform.

In her post, Sen. Warren told her followers to “help support the communities around L.A. being devastated by the wildfires,” adding, “Can you split a donation between the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and United Way of Greater Los Angeles?” She continued, “100% of your donation will go directly to these organizations.” However, after Sen. Warren published the post, X users took advantage of the Community Notes feature to point out that the senator was being dishonest.

Just hours after Sen. Warren shared her fundraising appeal, conservative influencer ALX published his own post pointing out that the senator had gotten “called out by Community Notes for trying to use the Los Angeles Wildfires to raise money for Democrats.” In addition, ALX attached a screenshot of Sen. Warren’s post with a Community Note added that read, “This is not a link to a charity. It is a link to a Democrat fundraising platform.”

Furthermore, the Community Note explained that ActBlue takes “3.95% of all transactions,” adding, “You can donate directly to these charities,” offering links to donation portals for the Los Angeles County Fire Department Foundation and United Way of Greater Los Angeles. In response to the post, the X user Klay Thompson wrote, “You really can’t hate these people enough. Seriously.”

Importantly, this incident was not the only time when Sen. Warren was caught in an egregious lie by conservatives. After an April 20, 2025, interview on the podcast “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso,” the senator faced fire from conservatives after she attempted to argue that there had been no decline in former President Joe Biden’s mental acuity, saying, “I had not seen decline.”

In response to the senator’s claim, Fragoso asked, “You think [Biden was as sharp as you?” This question clearly made the senator extremely uncomfortable, as she began shuddering and laughing nervously. She attempted to back up her statement by adding, “You know the…the thing is, he, look, he was sharp, he was on his feet, I saw him [at a] live event, I had meetings with him a couple of times.”

When the PBD Podcast X account shared a clip of Sen. Warren lying about President Biden’s mental acuity, the senator got brutally roasted in the comments section. One commenter with the handle Sidy said that Democrats like Warren “just do whatever is necessary for their party’s survival AT THE EXPENSE of Americans’ safety and wellbeing.”
