The internet is savagely sounding off on AOC after a video of the left-wing politico having a meltdown on the House floor resurfaced and drawn much attention, with X users in particular describing Ocasio-Cortez as behaving like a child and being unable to show decorum in a formal political setting, a criticism that AOC has received countless times from annoyed conservatives.
For context, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (better known as AOC), the representative for New York’s 14th congressional district, went on an emotionally-fueled tirade during a from the House floor on March 27, 2020, erroneously calling out the Republican Senate Majority for supporting a bill that allegedly led to corporate bailouts.
During the jejunely unhinged rant, AOC made baseless accusations that put the blame for the aforementioned bill on GOP Senators. She ranted, “What did the Senate Majority fight for? One of the largest corporate bailouts with as few strings as possible in American history. Shameful!”
Without backing up her statements with any evidence, AOC continued to heap accusations on Republicans. She went on, “The greed of that fight is wrong for crumbs for our families, and the option that we have is to either let them suffer with nothing or to allow this greed and billions of dollars, which will be leveraged into trillions of dollars to contribute to the largest income inequality gap in our future.”
This embarrassing clip resurfaced on February 7, 2025, when X user End Wokeness removed the sound, leaving only AOC’s bombastic gestures and humiliating display of unbridled emotion. Commenting on her unruly behavior, the popular account with 3.6 million followers made a hilarious observation, describing the representative as looking “like a 9-year-old throwing a broccoli tantrum.”
This characterization of AOC prompted a flood of responses on X from both supportive conservatives and angry leftists. One commenter, with the handle Crazy Fenek, called for the clip to be reposted with the sound on to add context to the video. They wrote, “Why don’t you repost this with the audio? Seems like you’re hiding something. Thanks.”
In a more supportive response to the clip shared by End Wokeness, another commenter raised the point that AOC could easily prove her point and be more respectable without dramatic displays of emotion. They wrote, “Why can’t she just make her point on the house floor without all the excessive hand motions?? 😂😂”

Other commenters attempted to defend AOC, with one disgruntled leftist asserting that the representative was probably saying something coherent. They insisted, “Turn the sound on, what’s she saying? Probably something evil like “everyone deserves healthcare” or “raise the federal minimum wage, it’s been $7.25 an hour since 2009.”
