Leftist Actor Caught Calling for Violence Against Tom Homan and His Family

Liberal actor Patton Oswalt got slammed on social media after he made an inflammatory post calling for violence against border czar Tom Homan on his Bluesky account, leading conservatives to call out the actor and call him a “miserable never-been” in the comments section.

For background, on June 25, 2025, the X account Bluesky Libs shared a screenshot of a post from actor and comedian Patton Oswalt’s Bluesky account in which Oswalt called it “good” that border czar Tom Homan has received so many threats to his safety that he is currently living separately from his family. Owalt wrote that he hopes “it gets so much worse” for Homan, which led to an outcry from conservatives online.

In his post, Oswalt shared a link to a Daily Beast article with the headline, “Tom Homan says he has received so much hate for his positions on immigration that he is unable to live safely with his family.” Commenting on the article, Oswalt wrote, “Good. I hope it gets so much worse for this rancid pile of polenta.” When the Bluesky Libs X account reposted Oswalt’s verbal attack on Homan, they wrote, “Patton Oswalt hopes it gets worse than a mere risk of violence to Tom Homan’s family.”

In response to Oswalt’s post, conservatives were furious online and ardently defended Homan for his work. The X user David Winter wrote, “I just saw Tom Homan on TV. This job is hard on him. But I don’t think there’s anybody else who could do it at this time. He’s incredible.” Another user chimed in, “That’s proof that Tom is doing great work for America!”

In addition, even more conservatives roasted Oswalt online for essentially calling for violence against Homan, with one user calling him “a miserable never-been” and adding, “We should all just ignore him.” Another user added, “Patton Oswalt = Temu Micahel Moore.”

Importantly, Homan has spoken openly about the number of threats he has received for his involvement in the Trump Administration’s intense crackdown on illegal immigration, telling the New York Post’s Miranda Devine, “My wife’s living separately from me right now,” adding that their separation started “because I worked for many hours,” but clarifying that they were now living apart “because of death threats against me.”

Moreover, Homan opened up to Devine about the personal sacrifices he had made to take the role of Trump Administration border czar, saying, “Even my wife said, ‘You know, it’s a huge pay cut,’ because I’m doing good in the private sector.” He added, “She’s in the middle of remodeling — months of stuff — and all that stopped because I’m leaving the private sector, going back to a government paycheck.”

Nevertheless, Homan has said that he is “not going anywhere” despite the difficulties of his job, adding, “I mean, I had a thousand protestors at my house in Upstate New York, my lake house.” He told Devine, “I’m not going away, ’cause I know how important it is to secure our border.”
