Disney’s latest film, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” has been met with disappointing results at the box office. The movie had an underwhelming opening of $60 million, which pales compared to the past performance of movies in the “Indiana Jones” blockbuster franchise. However, non-woke “Sound of Freedom” has been crushing the box office, putting legacy film studios to shame.
After the “Dial of Destiny’s” dismal opening, demand for the movie tanked by roughly 50 to 60 percent during its second weekend. The film is estimated to have only brought in $25 to $28 million during the second weekend. It couldn’t manage to attain a single, consecutive first-place finish despite piggybacking off of one of the greatest franchises in history.
However, the smashing hit “Sound of Freedom” has had a stellar performance at the box office. The American Tribune recently reported how the film produced by Angel Studios took the top spot at the U.S. box office when it opened on the 4th of July. At the time of the article, “Sound of Freedom” had brought in over $14 million in revenue.
In contrast to these unprecedented results, movies such as the latest installment of “Indiana Jones” and “The Flash” have completely flopped in comparison. On the “Dial of Destiny’s” opening night, The American Tribune reported that the movie only earned between $6 and $7.5 million. This is worse than “The Flash,” which brought in nearly $9.7 million on its opening night. For context, some have considered “The Flash” one of the biggest flops in recent history.
It’s important to note that “Sound of Freedom” was shown in nearly 2,000 fewer theaters than “The Dial of Destiny.” Reportedly, “Indiana Jones” was shown in 4,600 theaters while “Sound of Freedom” was only shown in 2,850. Additionally, the non-woke film only had a budget of $14.5 million and is projected to have grossed somewhere around $40 million so far. Therefore, it is already incredibly profitable.
The movie produced by Angel Studios has the noble goal of exposing the evils of human trafficking, particularly its effect on children. According to the studio, “Sound of Freedom is a true story film that exposes the darkness of child trafficking. A federal agent saves a boy from traffickers, but his sister is still captive. He embarks on a dangerous mission, risking his life to free her from a fate worse than death.”
The movie also aimed to sell two million tickets to shed light on the two million children impacted by child trafficking. “Why a 2 million ticket goal? To symbolize our commitment to the 2 million trafficked children around the world,” according to Angel Studio’s website. They have far exceeded that goal, having sold almost 3.9 million tickets at the time of writing this article.

Angel Studios said, “SOUND OF FREEDOM is based upon the true story of former government agent Tim Ballard who quit his job to rescue a little girl from sex traffickers in the Colombian jungle. In the process, Tim ended up saving 123 people, 55 of which were children, from one mission alone.” See the trailer of the movie below.
