In the wake of President Donald Trump taking to his Truth Social platform to call for George Soros and his son Alex Soros to be held accountable for what leftist causes they have funded, a call that conservative influencers on X made go viral, former DOGE head Elon Musk took to the comments on X to agree and call for much the same thing.
For reference, Soros and his funding branches, along with other far-left “dark money” groups, have been caught funding the protests targeting the Trump Administration, much to the fury of MAGA conservatives. For example, it was recently revealed that Soros and like leftist donors have funded the anti-Trump protests in DC.
So, President Trump and others, like Elon Musk, have called for Soros and his son to face legal consequences. Such is what President Trump did on the morning of Wednesday, August 27, demanding that the Department of Justice use RICO law against him. “RICO” refers to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Passed in 1970, the federal law is a way of prosecuting organized crime by holding the leaders of criminal enterprises accountable for “predicate crimes,” or underlying criminal acts that generate criminal proceeds.
Beginning his post with a call for George and Alex Soros to face a RICO prosecution and citing their alleged involvement in financially backing rioters, the president said, “George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America.”
Continuing, the president accused the billionaire financier and his notoriously far-left son of using their financial firepower and vast political influence to divide America and inflict damage upon it. He said, “We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE.”
Concluding, the president accused the financier and his friends of inflicting a great deal of dastardly damage upon America, saying, “Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Posting about the matter on X in response to a post from Turning Point USA personality and conservative podcaster Benny Johnson, Elon Musk agreed with the approach advocated by President Trump, and insisted that it is time for the government to crack down on the Soros operation. He said, “High time action was taken against Soros directly.”

Responding, Benny noted that there is some good news on that front, as there are members of Congress who also are working to hold Soros accountable. He wrote, “Good news. A couple weeks ago, I pressed Rep. Tim Burchett to subpoena George Soros. Just minutes after, he fired off a letter to Chairman Comer demanding Soros be hauled before Congress. Action is underway.”
Another commenter on Elon’s post chimed in with a perhaps more realistic approach to dealing with Soros, saying, “I’d suggest that instead of the long shot of a RICO case, that they should pass legislation which makes those who fund protests liable for damages. Just like if you had a music concert that get’s out of hand. It’s up to you to pay for damages. The same should be true if a certain groups are found to be funding protest events.”
