“Fake News”: White House Catches and Exposes the Woke Media in another Major Lie

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt went nuclear on the woke media after the United States’ successful strike on Iranian nuclear sites, when CNN erroneously reported that the Trump Administration had notified top Republican leaders before the strikes but failed to brief certain Democrats, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

For context, on June 22, 2025, CNN reported that the top two Republicans in Congress — House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune — received advance notice from the White House ahead of the airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on June 21. However, the notoriously left-leaning outlet claimed that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY) had not been notified until after the attack took place.

However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt demolished CNN for publishing what she described as “fake news,” writing on X on June 22, “The White House made bipartisan courtesy calls to Congressional Leadership and spoke to ⁦ @SenSchumer ⁩ before the strike. ⁦⁦ @RepJeffries ⁩ could not be reached until after, but he was briefed.” She added, “@CNN please retract.”

In response to criticism from Leavitt, CNN updated its story on the evening of June 22, quoting Leavitt’s X post and clarifying, “Sources familiar with the matter said the administration made multiple efforts to reach Jeffries in advance of the strikes after talking to Schumer.” However, the outlet doubled down on its previous stance that top Democrats were under-informed, writing that Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) “were not told until after the strikes had occurred.”

Moreover, CNN pointed out that the decision to strike nuclear sites in Iran was indeed divisive, quoting Sen. Mark Warner as saying that the Trump Administration had initiated the strike “without consulting Congress, without a clear strategy, without regard to the consistent conclusions of the intelligence community, and without explaining to the American people what’s at stake.”

Importantly, the tide of the conversation shifted when President Trump announced on Truth Social on June 23, 2025, that the strikes had led to an agreement between Israel and Iran that will lead to a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE.” Furthermore, the president noted that the ceasefire would take place “in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress, final missions!”

Continuing, the president wrote that after a 12-hour period, the war “will be considered, ENDED!” He added, “Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World.” Moreover, the president congratulated “both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.”

Concluding his post, President Trump wrote that the conflict between Israel and Iran “could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and it never will!” He finished his post with a blessing: “God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
