Border czar Tom Homan pulled no punches in a recent interview, fiercely criticizing the Biden Administration for sabotaging the border securing work accomplished during President Trump’s first term and emphasizing his loyalty to the presidnet during his current term, describing the border as more secure than ever.
For context, in a Fox News interview shared online on May 8, 2025, Homan condemned the Biden Administration for its negligent approach to border security and described President Trump as accomplishing more to secure the border in the first seven weeks of his term than Biden did in his entire Presidnecy. In addition, Homan expressed that he didn’t think twice before joining Trump’s team as his designated border expert.
In the interview, Homan expressed deep loyalty for Presidnet Trump, saying, “I’m working for the greatest president in my lifetime. He added, “I don’t care if people [don’t] like him or love him, no one’s done more than President Trump to secure this nation.” He continued, “His success during his first administration…unprecedented success.”
Moving on, Homan voiced intense criticism of the Biden Administration’s border policies, saying, “We had the most secure border in a lifetime, handed to Biden, who destroyed it on purpose.” Homan, visibly frustrated, added, “That pissed me off for four years. So when President Trump asked me to come back for the second time, I didn’t hesitate.”
Concluding his statement, Homan expressed that he had no second thoughts about working for the Trump Administration for the president’s second term, saying, “So, when President Trump asked me to come back for the second time, I didn’t hesitate. And look what — President Trump — we got the most secure border in the history of this nation right now. And he did that in seven weeks, that Joe Biden couldn’t do, or wouldn’t do, in four years.”
Homan’s comments on Biden’s immigration policies came shortly after ICE’s deportation operations were stymied by Judge James Boasberg, who, on April 16, 2025, found members of the Trump Administration in criminal contempt and argued that they violated his order to turn deportation planes around midair. In response to the contempt ruling, Homan reportedly told Laura Ingraham, “I think we did the right thing,” adding, “There is a level of due process for terrorists.”
In addition, in a March 23, 2025, interview with ABC News, Homan said that he does not “care what judges think, as far as this case,” referring to the contempet ruling by Judge Boasberg, and added, “We’re going to continue to arrest public safety threats and national security threats. We’re going to continue to deport them from the United States. I understand this case is in litigation through the Alien Enemies Act and we’ll abide by the court order as litigated.”

In the same interview, Homan emphasized his determination to keep the border secure, saying, “We’re going to secure the border and make sure no public safety threats or national security threats cross the border and get away. So, look, you know, like — like we knew what would happen as we secure the southern border, the land border, some of these groups are going to take to maritime.”
