Blue State Governor Drops F-bomb When DOJ Memo Exposing Her Alleged Cocaine Use Emerges

Janet Mills, Maine’s woke governor, dropped the F-bomb in shock after decades-old allegations of cocaine abuse resurfaced, thanks to a Department of Justice Memo that contains information related to the Democratic politician’s sordid past.

For context, Gov. Janet Mills of Maine was approached by a journalist while visiting Washington, D.C., and questioned about recently resurfaced allegations of cocaine abuse in her past. In response to being asked if “sniffing cocaine at work” is a “human right,” the governor simply replied, “What the f—?” which led to even more intense scrutiny of her conduct. Mills refused to answer the journalist’s question.

The DOJ documents in question were retrieved by Fox News on June 30, 2025, and they alleged that Gov. Mills had a substance abuse problem in the 1990s, stating that Mills was investigated by a federal grand jury for drug abuse, which led Mills to reportedly sue a journalist for libel. When questioned about the allegations by a journalist on the streets of Washington, D.C., she had a simple and profane response: “What the f—?”

Moreover, Fox News reported that Gov. Mills responded to the allegations against her in 1991 by saying, “It’s scary,” and adding, “Maine apparently has a secret police force at work that can ruin the reputation of any who opposes it.” However, the DOJ said that Mills’ claims of having her reputation tarnished for political reasons were “unsubstantiated.”

In addition, according to Fox News, Gov. Mills described herself as “the victim of a smear campaign” in 1991 in an attempt to clear her name. She also said that it sets a “very bad precedent when a prosecutor has to look over his or her shoulder every time you put somebody in jail and wonder whether that person is going to find an audience down the street in the BIDE office or down the road in the U.S. Attorney’s Office to say dirty things about you.”

Importantly, the resurfacing of the allegations against Gov. Mills came just months after the Department of Justice announced enforcement actions against the state of Maine for “failing to protect women and girls in sports. In an announcement, Attorney General Pam Bondi said that Gov. Mills’ state “is discriminating against women by failing to protect women in women’s sports. Pretty basic stuff.”

Responding to the lawsuit, Gov. Mills was furious, telling ABC News, “My Administration and Maine’s Attorney General will vigorously defend our state against the action announced today from the Department of Justice.” Furthermore, the governor said, “There are two…trans athletes competing in Maine schools right now,” downplaying the issue in an interview with WGME.

In addition, President Trump and Gov. Mills butted heads during a National Governors Association meeting in February 2025, during which President Trump asked the governor, “Are you not going to comply with that?” referring to his executive order banning trans athletes from women’s sports. The governor reportedly declined and said, “See you in court.”
