A video of President-elect Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, recently went viral on social media, demonstrating her prowess on the golf course, clearly taking after her grandfather. The clip shows Kai at the driving range, smashing several drives with precision and power. Users reacted to the footage on X, praising her golf game.
One user wrote, “Better than 99.9% of people watching this.” Another user admitted, “Better than mine.” Getting into specifics, another person wrote, “Lots of nice action through the hitting zone. She releases the club head well.” However, some offered some constructive criticism on her swing. “Would like to see that left elbow pointing a little more down, through impact and after. Sort of like Babe Ruth, Ben Hogan, Jimmy Ballard,” one person said.
In light of Kai’s enthusiasm for golf, The American Tribune previously reported on her interviewing the best golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler, asking him hilarious questions. Referencing the 2024 incident in which Scheffler was arrested while en route to Valhalla Gold Club for the PGA Championship. “Scottie, you’re too nice, but how was jail?” she jokingly asked Scheffler.
Laughing as he responded to the lighthearted question, he explained that he simply had to just sit there and stare at the wall, which he said was “a little boring.” Scottie recalled, “You know, honestly, it was a bit boring. There’s not really much to do in there. I was in a cell by myself and just kind of sitting in there looking at the walls. So, it was a little boring.”
Cracking another joke, Kai made a comment about orange prison clothing and Tiger Woods having been arrested. She said, “I mean, orange is not a bad color though – on you, honestly. You pulled it off just like Tiger Woods.” Scheffler, throwing a bit of humor back at Trump, replied, “I prefer the burnt orange a little bit more than the jail cell orange.”
The Tribune reported on another incident on the golf course in which Kai highlighted the loving side of her granpda, who regularly checks in on her. “Yesterday I was I was going through my my voicemails. I saw a few voicemails for my grandpa, because if I call him, he always picks up, but if he doesn’t, if he’s like, in an interview or whatever, he’ll call me back. And it’s always at like, 12 o’clock at night, and also sleeping at 12,” she said.

Continuing, Kai added, “And I was looking back at, like, the voicemails that I got from him. And so it’s like, Hi Kai, how’s your golf game, or it’s your favorite president, how’s your golf game, or how are you doing, or how school, or what’s a sweetie is so nice. Like, I look, I went through all that yesterday and, like, it’s like, warm my heart. I don’t know. I felt bad that never picked up this boy on his golf but it’s okay. I always call him back. But like, in the morning.”
