Beloved conservative author and former Fox News Host Monica Crowley was confirmed as the official State Department Ambassador and Chief of Protocol, a role that will make her the Trump Administration’s representative at major world events in the coming years.
For context, Crowley was reportedly confirmed on May 12, 2025, bringing her back to the Trump Administration for a second time — during the president’s first term, Crowley served as a foreign affairs analyst. In addition to her political career, she is known for her media career, including her hosting of the syndicated “Monica Crowley Show.”
Sharing the official announcement of Crowley’s nomination, President Trump wrote, “I am honored to nominate Monica Elizabeth Crowley, Ph.D., to serve as Ambassador, Assistant Secretary of State, and Chief of Protocol of the United States of America.” He added, “Monica will be the Administration Representative for major U.S.-hosted events, including America’s 250th Birthday in 2026, the FIFA World Cup in 2026, and the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.”
In addition, President Trump praised Crowley for her work in his previous administration, saying, “During my First Term, Monica did an incredible job as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs.” He continued, “or her exceptional service, she received the Alexander Hamilton Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Department.”
Moreover, President Trump provided a long list of Crowley’s accomplishments, saying, “Monica is a New York Times bestselling author, and has been a popular anchor, and political and foreign affairs analyst, for the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, among others.” He added, “A graduate of Colgate University, she holds two Master’s degrees, and a Doctorate in International Relations, from Columbia University.”
Concluding the announcement, President Trump said that he believed that Crowley would be “an extraordinary representative of our country,” adding, “Congratulations Monica!”
In addition, U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman shared his support for Crowley in a press release, saying, “As we look ahead to a mega-decade of events, from the FIFA World Cup 26 to the 2028 Olympics, Ambassador Crowley and the Trump administration have a great opportunity to attract millions of travelers to America, showcase the best of our great nation and create a lasting benefit to our economy.”

Prior to President Trump’s election, Crowley interviewed Trump on August 29, 2024, for her podcast. During the interview, she asked Trump, “I want to ask you. What will you do this time to restore law and order so that American women and, in fact, all Americans will have greater safety and security?” In response, President Trump said, “You know, they’re not going to have safety. If they…if they want safety, they’re going to have to vote for me.”
