In the wake of the horrifying assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, the libertarian and anti-woke president of Argentina, Javier Milei, went scorched earth on what he referred to as the “international left” for being willing to “resort to terrorism” to stop the former president.
That came in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that garnered well over 5 million views, in which he expressed his “solidarity” with the former president and called out those as he saw as being behind it. His post came on the same evening as the assassination attempt.
Beginning the post, Milei said that he stands with the former president and candidate and sees the assassination attempt as being highly cowardly. He said, “All my support and solidarity to President and candidate Donald Trump, victim of a COWARDLY assassination attempt that put his life and that of hundreds of people at risk.”
Continuing, he skewered the “international left” for its violence and desperation, saying, “The desperation of the international left is not surprising, as today it sees its harmful ideology expire, and is willing to destabilize democracies and promote violence to screw itself into power. In fear of losing at the polls, they resort to terrorism to impose their retrograde and authoritarian agenda.”
Concluding, he said that he hopes that former President Trump will recover from the horrific attack, which Trump fortunately has, and that the American elections manage to be fair and peaceful despite this shocking assassination attempt. He said, “I hope for the speedy recovery of President Trump and that the elections in the United States are held fairly, peacefully and democratically.”
In a later post, this one a response to a video showing Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill claiming that Trump is more dangerous than fascist dictators like Mussolini and Hitler. He said, “Politically correct lefties are all cut from the same cloth, no matter where you look in the world…When an aberrant adjective appears in society, they will be there to label their opponents with said adjective…”
He continued, “We have several of these sinister beings in the country who also have their accomplice journalists… easy, look for the politicians who do this and the journalists who play into their hands. There they will find the true enemies of FREEDOM… The cultural battle never stops… LONG LIVE DAMN FREEDOM…!!!”

In a post similar to Milei’s, the Argentian Justice Minister, Mariano Cúneo Libarona, quote tweeted President Milei’s post about the international left and terrorism, and sounded off on the horrifying and cowardly attempt to murder the former president while making his support for Trump clear, writing, “I express my complete and resounding rejection of the cowardly assassination attempt on President Donald J. Trump. In 2020 they tried to impeach him. Then they tried to put him in prison. Today, without any more tools, they went directly against his life. The left runs out of tools to stop it and resorts to violence.”
