WATCH: MTG Reveals D.O.G.E. Could Slash “Democrat Propaganda” NPR

In big news for attempts to make the government at least somewhat more efficient and less wasteful, particularly when it comes to massive spending that is directly against the interests of half the country, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) shared some details of what the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will be up to, saying that it will slash wasteful government spending, including on things like NPR.

As background, President-Elect Donald Trump tapped tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and former businessman Vivek Ramaswamy to head DOGE shortly after he won the presidential election, with the two aiming to slash needless spending. Then, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) tapped Rep. MTG to head up a new committee that will work with them to effect their views on how to reign in the government.

As currently conceptualized, Rep. MTG’s new committee will work with the two entrepreneurs to help turn ideas on massive cuts into reality. The committee currently aims to make large budgetary and personal cuts to many government departments, and completely eliminate a number of federal agencies, including the Department of Education.

Rep. MTG then appeared on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, November 24, and commented on what the first priorities of the new administration will be. She said one such priority is either slashing funding to the bone or completely eliminating that funding for National Public Radio (NPR).

She said, commenting on some of the wasteful programs and need to get rid of NPR, “We’ll be looking at everything from government-funded media programs like NPR that spread nothing but Democrat propaganda, we’ll be going into grant programs that fund things like sex apps in Malaysia, toilets in Africa.”

Rep. MTG also commented on the horrific financial practices at the Pentagon and what sort of immense wase happens there, telling Bartiromo, “I want to talk to the people at the Pentagon and ask them why they can’t find billions of dollars every single year and why they fail their audit, but not just that.”

That’s not all. Rep. MTG also took the opportunity to comment on how the DOGE committee could fight back against sanctuary states and cities, indicating that they wouldn’t receive federal funding if they don’t follow federal laws regarding immigration. Bringing up that aspect of its potential future, she said, “I’d like to … have them come before our committee and explain why they deserve federal dollars if they’re going to harbor illegal criminal aliens in their states and cities.”

Rebroadening her comments about what DOGE will do, Rep. MTG noted that the committee will be laser-focused on slashing wasteful spending, and so will not get distracted by worrying about the feelings of those who rely on such funding, whether blue state mayors harboring illegals or scientists studying toilets in Africa. She said, “We don’t care about people’s feelings — we’re going to be searching for the facts and we’re going to be verifying if this is worth spending the American people’s hard-earned tax dollars on.”
