The internet is roaring after FBI Deputy Director and conservative commentator Dan Bongino called Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) out for spreading lies about the Trump Administration’s relationship with Russia in frequent media appearances, behavior that Bongino described as fraudulent during a Fox News broadcast.

For context, Sen. Schiff has stirred up controversy after making countless baseless accusations about the Trump Administration and its relationship with Russia, with the notorious Democrat recently calling for an investigation into President Trump’s tariff pause. Sen. Schiff’s proposed investigation has received major attention from leftist media outlets, but the senator has yet to present anything other than anecdotal evidence from fellow left-wing politicos like Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA).

In the Fox News broadcast, which aired on February 23, 2025, the recently appointed and since-confirmed FBI Deputy Director spoke plainly about Sen. Schiff, describing him as a “hoaxer.” Bongino commented, “He’s been out there on television now for a year, looking in the face of you, America, and lying to every one of you in an effort to distract the entire country on a hoax Russia scandal.”

Continuing despite attempted interruptions from a Fox anchor, Bongino asserted that it is essential that the right speak up and acknowledge that Schiff’s behavior is fraudulent and inexcusable. He concluded, “He is a fraud, and he should be called out as a fraud. He has been lying.”

As could be expected, the much-beloved Dan Bongino’s demolition of Sen. Schiff’s antics resulted in an internet firestorm, with conservatives calling for justice on X. For example, one page with the handle MAGA Voice posted Bongino’s Fox News callout of Sen. Schiff on their page, captioning it, “Adam Schiff is NOT having a good week. Here is Dan Bongino calling him a fraud to millions 🔥”

On X, many conservatives echoed Bongino’s fiery comments and called for Schiff to be arrested. One user with the handle Cloud commented, “So Schiff is done. Check. This is another great day. What will tomorrow hold? ” Another commenter added, “We know they have evidence on Schiff. Button it up, investigate him, and bring federal charges.”

Not all of the responses on X were as serious, with some commenters introducing some levity into the sea of calls for Schiff’s arrest. Making a hilarious addition to the discussion, a conservative parody account with the handle Department of Government Efficiency – TEMU Edition added, “When Adam Schart has a bad week; (sic) it’s a great week for America!!!”

Many commenters also expressed gratitude towards President Trump for his appointment of Bongino to the office of Deputy Director of the FBI. One commenter wrote, “@dbongino being named FBI Deputy Director is really the best music to my ears since Trump won last November. Now, I feel we will really get justice. They added a photo with the caption “The Strongest Weapon in the United States Is a Patriotic American.”
