President Donald Trump has gotten heavily involved in backing candidates loyal to him for this primary cycle, with the state senate primary races in Indiana being a particularly prime example of how his involvement in the races has meant the RINOs lose and the MAGA candidates win, often quite handily.
Another such example came when Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) lost his primary race in his home state, making him the first Republican incumbent senator since 2012 to lose his primary race. Yet further, Sen. Cassidy, who has been despised since he voted to impeach President Trump, lost by a whopping margin of 20 points to the Trump-backed MAGA challenger, showing just how unpopular such types have become.
President Trump posted about that MAGA victory over a RINO in a post in which he also berated Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), a libertarian-leaning representative who has become increasingly anti-Trump as the years have worn on, and thus sparked the president’s ire.
Beginning his post on the matter in which he attacked the two, Trump said, “Tom Massie of Kentucky, the worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country, is an even bigger insult to our Nation than Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who suffered an unprecedented loss tonight by not even being allowed to run in the Republican Primary.”
Continuing, the president highlighted the magnitude of his victory over Sen. Cassidy, saying, “This is the first time such a thing has ever happened to a sitting U.S. Senator! That’s what you get by voting to Impeach an innocent man, especially one who made it possible for Cassidy’s Senate win. Very disloyal, but Tom Massie, a major Sleazebag, is even worse! Kentucky, get this LOSER out of politics in Tuesday’s Election.”
Then, dropping the hammer on Rand Paul as well, the president said, “He is nicknamed Rand Paul Jr., another real “beauty,” because of his absolutely terrible voting habits. Vote for Ed Gallrein, a successful Kentucky farmer, and American War Hero, who only ran because he thought that Massie was so disloyal and disrespectful to your President, ME!”
Concluding that post, the president said, praising his chosen challenger to Massie, “This is a great man, Central Casting, in fact, who truly deserves to represent the fantastic people of Kentucky, a Commonwealth that I am proud to have won all three times, in record fashion! ED WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

In another post on the matter, the president cheered Cassidy’s overthrow, saying, “Bill Cassidy, after falsely using his “relationship” with me during his political career, and winning Elections because of it, voted to impeach me on preposterous charges that were fake then, and now, are criminally insane! His disloyalty to the man who got him elected is now a part of legend, and it’s nice to see that his political career is OVER! I’d like to thank the Great People of the State of Louisiana, and this Big Victory will only make me work even harder for your success, and all that comes with it. I LOVE YOU ALL. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
That post came after President Trump called on voters in Cassidy’s home state to vote against him, saying, “Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana is a disloyal disaster. His entire past campaign for the Senate was about “TRUMP,” how he’s with me all the way, and then, after winning, he turned around and voted to IMPEACH me for something that has now proven to be total “bullshit!” He knew that at the time, but didn’t care.”
He added, “Bill Cassidy is a sleazebag, a terrible guy, who is BAD FOR LOUISIANA. Now he’s going to get CLOBBERED, hopefully, in today’s BIG election, by two great people!!! VOTE TODAY FOR JULIA L. She Is a winner who will NEVER let you down. I LOVE LOUISIANA, won it all three times, and got the most votes in its history, by far (A record!!!), despite its big time and “storied,” political past. THE ELECTION IS TODAY – please get out and VOTE!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
