Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is a snake who wants to wear MAGA as a skinsuit while he continues doing everything in his power to try and stop MAGA’s key priorities from being passed through the legislature and being effected before it’s too late, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is running against Sen. Cornyn in a runoff primary race, argued.
Such occurred when AG Paxton sat for an interview on Breitbart News Saturday with Breitbart’s D.C. Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle on Sunday, March 8. During the interview, AG Paxton explained that he has put election security at the top of his list, whereas Sen. Cornyn will continue betraying MAGA, betraying Trump, and betraying America by refusing to do so.
As background, AG Paxton has even offered to drop out of the race if Sen. Cornyn will help get the SAVE Act passed. He posted that pledge on X, saying, “The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I’m committed to helping President Trump get it done. I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act. John Cornyn is a coward who has refused to support abolishing the filibuster to pass this bill. Now, Fake News reporters and the establishment are trying to destroy me with misinformation. The truth is clear: No one has been more loyal to Donald Trump than me—fighting the stolen 2020 election, being in Mar-a-Lago when he announced his 2024 campaign, and standing with him in NY in the face of lawfare. For the good of our country and for the good of passing President Trump’s agenda, I am determined to help him get this done.”
In any case, speaking to Boyle about how important he thinks election integrity is, AG Paxton explained, “My number one campaign message has been on election integrity… [After President Trump’s State of the Union], I literally thought, well, okay, if this is the way it’s going to be, let’s make sure we get something good done for the country. The most important thing we can do to save this country is to protect our elections in states that refuse to do that.”
Building on that, he noted that RINOs like Mitch McConnell are still working in the background to stop the all-important bill from going through. He said, “Since the time that I put out the tweet, it’s been interesting because the Senate still hasn’t pushed forward the Save America Act. You hear a lot of consternation, but I haven’t heard any new Republican senators who have been opposed to it, like Mitch McConnell and others, come out and support it.”
Adding to that, Paxton continued by explaining that Sen. Cornyn hasn’t even come out in favor of it, noting, “And I haven’t heard John Cornyn come out — he says he supports it, but he doesn’t. He’s never said anything about supporting getting rid of the filibuster.”
He then explained, further emphasizing the immense importance of the SAVE Act, “And he has done nothing to get this bill passed for years, and he has done nothing to get it passed since I said that. I’m still hopeful because I think this is the most important bill sitting in front of Congress, and it is essential for saving our country from fraudulent elections, which ultimately destroy the country.”

Then, commenting more generally on Sen. Cornyn’s career of betrayal, AG Paxton noted, “He’s asking the State of Texas for six more years. He’s been there for 24 years. I can’t vote in the Senate right now — I feel like I’m having more influence over the Save America Act than he has, and I’m not even there. This is the guy that supposedly can get things done. He’s promised the State of Texas that he’s the guy, he’s conservative, he’s pro-Trump. He cares about the Save America Act, but he’s the only one that can actually get it done. And right now he’s not getting it done.”
Further emphasizing that, AG Paxton noted that such betrayal and lip service is what has characterized John Cornyn’s whole public career, saying, “It’s as we just said, lip service, big talk. This has been typical of John Cornyn for 24 years in the Senate and 40 years-plus in office. A lot of talk but no delivering.”
