Things have not gone particularly well for woke “Squad” Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as of late, as shown by her disastrous attempt to speak about foreign relations at the Munich Security Conference, in which she stumbled and rambled her way through a non-answer. She then tried to freak out about the blowback she got for that in a video, and her uncaring fiancé snored in the background as she did so.
As background, the whole thing began during a town hall at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, February 13. During that, she was asked about the geopolitical situation and Taiwan: “Would and should the U.S. actually commit U.S. troops to defend Taiwan if China were to move?”
Rep. AOC didn’t have a good answer ready. Instead, she started rambling, saying, “Um, you know, I think that this is such a, you know, I think that this is a um — this is, of course, a, um, very long-standing, um, policy of the United States.” She then added, similarly incoherently, “And I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point, and we want to make sure that we are moving in all of our economic research and our global positions to avoid any such confrontation — and for that question to even arise.”
AOC then got roasted for it. President Trump, for example, said, “Look, Gavin has destroyed California, and AOC I never really got her, I never heard her speak very much and they started answering questions. She had no idea what was happening. She had no idea how to answer, you know, very important questions concerning the world. But she can’t answer questions concerning New York City either, because New York City [has] got some problems.”
JD Vance roasted her as well. “I’ve seen this way too much in Washington with politicians, where they are given lines, and when you ask them to go outside the lines they were given, they completely fall apart. Because look, does anybody really believe that AOC has very thoughtful ideas about the global world order or about what the United States should do with our policy in Asia or our policy in Europe?”, he said. He added, “No. This person who is mouthing the slogans that someone else gave her, and that shows how thin the Democrats’ policy actually is on all these very important questions. Look, that was embarrassing. If I had given that answer, I would say, ‘You know what, maybe I ought to go read a book about China and Taiwan before I go out on the world stage again.'”
AOC then freaked out over all the criticism in a ridiculous video she posted to social media. She began, “If you think that I don’t understand foreign policy because out of hours of discourse about international affairs, I pause to think about one of the most sensitive geopolitical issues that currently exist on Earth. I’m afraid the issue is not my understanding, but rather, the problem is perhaps you’ve gotten adjusted to a president that never thinks before he speaks and doesn’t care about the implications of his words before he speaks on matters like these.”
She added, “And in fact, if you actually look at what Trump said about this issue himself, he actually had the same, if not a worse, answer. So ask yourself: why do you think the issues turn to that? And I’m going to tell you, it’s because, frankly, there are very few people who are actually willing to challenge the foreign policy establishment that continues to send people to war and bankrupt our country for the rich.”

Adding to the ridiculousness of her freakout was that her fiancé could be heard in the background, as he was loudly snoring as she ranted and rambled about the criticism she has faced for not being able to answer a basic question about American foreign policy. Watch her here:
