In a classic example of Democrat corruption, Oklahoma State Rep. Ajay Pittman (D-Oklahoma City) resigned after pleading guilty to felony charges, including Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Forgery in the Second Degree, and Violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act related to submitting a forged check to the Ethics Commission.
For context, the leftist admitted to misusing campaign funds for personal expenses, falsifying reports, and fraud in prior settlements. As part of the proceedings, Pittman received a seven-year deferred sentence, must pay restitution to a charity, and is barred from holding elected office in Oklahoma for 15 years. Reacting to the scandal, the Ethics Commission described it as one of the most serious campaign finance cases in recent years, citing intentional misconduct.
Explaining the situation, Lee Anne Bruce Boone, the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, declared, “This case involved intentional misconduct and deception, not reporting errors or technical mistakes. Campaign funds are not personal funds, and when an elected official deliberately abuses that trust, the Commission will pursue every appropriate remedy available under the law.” —
“Public officials hold a sacred trust with the people they serve. When that trust is violated for personal gain, it strikes at the very heart of our institutions. This office will continue to hold elected officials accountable when they abuse their positions and betray the public’s confidence. No one is above the law in Oklahoma,” vowed Gentner Drummond, the Attorney General.
“We were blindsided by all of this,” honestly reacted Representative Forrest Bennett (D-OKC). Similalry, Sen. Julia Kirt (D-Oklahoma City) blasted the entitled Democrat, saying, “The allegations against Rep. Ajay Pittman are very serious. I fully condemn these actions if proven.”
Building on this point, she quipped, “Elected officials, regardless of their political party, should be held to the highest standard. Clear corruption allegations among government officials break the public’s trust in us and in our ability to work for them. I support law enforcement investigations on these serious allegations. We must all do better to hold ourselves accountable and avoid even the appearance of corruption so we can put people over politics.”
Reacting to the dramatic situation on social media, one MAGA supporter stated, “Hopefully her (vacant) seat will be replaced by a Conservative ~ ~ Oklahoma Democrat Rep. Ajay Pittman resigns after pleading guilty to forgery and conspiracy charges.”
