Governor Ron DeSantis’s Florida has once again sparked controversy and put the “public health” bureaucrats on the defensive with new guidelines it has issued to doctors. In those guidelines, it instructs doctors to give patients warnings on the Covid vaccine, namely that the jab might cause negative health effects including heart attacks.

In that health alert, the Florida Department of Health said:
The COVID-19 pandemic brought many challenges that the health and medical field have never encountered. Although the initial response was led by a sense of urgency and crisis management, the State Surgeon General believes it is critical that as public health professionals, responses are adapted to the present to chart a future guided by data.
The State Surgeon General is notifying the health care sector and public of a substantial increase in Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports from Florida after the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
In Florida alone, there was a 1,700% increase in VAERS reports after the release of the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to an increase of 400% in overall vaccine administration for the same time period (Figure 1).
The reporting of life-threatening conditions increased over 4,400%. This is a novel increase and was not seen during the 2009 H1N1 vaccination campaign. There is a need for additional unbiased research to better understand the COVID-19 vaccines’ short- and long-term effects.
The Daily Mail reported on that and what exactly it is that Florida has told doctors in a recent report, saying:
Doctors in Florida are now being instructed to warn recipients of the Covid vaccine that the shot could cause adverse effects — including heart attacks.
A notice sent to the state’s medical professionals Wednesday warned that reports of adverse events following vaccination in Florida had increased 1,700 percent from 2020 to 2021 – the shot’s first year of availability.
Among them was a massive spike in life-threatening conditions linked to vaccines, including include heart attacks and other cardiovascular issues. This is despite only a 400 percent in the number of vaccines administered in Florida that year. This means the increase in shots administered is not the sole reason for this increase.
The Daily Mail then added that the system Florida has used to collect information on Covid jabs might be flawed due to the self-reporting it relies upon and the potential conflation of Covid side effects with Covid vaccine side effects. In its words:
But, the system cited by Florida officials uses self-reported information and does not require verification. Some reports may not be true, and others could be caused by Covid itself – which is known to cause long-term heart symptoms in some sufferers.
While the Covid vaccines have serious side effects, they are so rare that health officials have decided the benefits outweigh risk.
This guidance comes after Florida’s Surgeon General released guidance on the mRNA Covid vaccines in early October 2022, saying that men aged 18-29 should not take the vaccine because of increased cardiac death incidents among men in that age group who get the mRNA jab. In the release including that guidance, Florida’s Health Department said:
The Florida Department of Health (Department) conducted an analysis through a self-controlled case
series, which is a technique originally developed to evaluate vaccine safety. This studied mortality risk
following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. This analysis found there is an 84% increase in the relative
incidence of cardiac-related death among males 18-39 years old within 28 days following mRNA
vaccination. Individuals with preexisting cardiac conditions, such as myocarditis and pericarditis,
should take particular caution when considering vaccination and discuss with their health care
provider.
As such, the Florida Department of Health has issued the following guidance:
Based on currently available data, patients should be informed of the possible cardiac complications
that can arise after receiving a mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. With a high level of global immunity to
COVID-19, the benefit of vaccination is likely outweighed by this abnormally high risk of cardiacrelated death among men in this age group.
FactCheck.Org, reporting on that claim, said “On Jan. 4, the Washington Post reported that a faculty council committee at the University of Florida College of Medicine, where Ladapo is on the faculty, determined that the state’s analysis was “seriously flawed” and should not have been used as the basis to recommend against vaccination. The committee said this raised concerns that Ladapo performed “careless, irregular, or contentious research practices” in violation of the school’s policies on research integrity. The school, however, said it would not be investigating further.”
