WATCH: President Trump Does the Famous “Trump Dance” with US Navy Sailors in Awesome, Heartwarming Video

President Donald Trump recently put his sick dance moves on full display while visiting sailors and Navy personnel aboard the USS George Washington during a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, which was part of a larger tour of the president’s across Asia. Before he busted into his famous “Trump shuffle” to the tune of the Village People’s “YMCA,” he delivered a rousing speech that got American troops more than a little fired up.

Just as Marine One touched down, a series of speakers set up on base launched into the theme from Tom Cruise’s Top Gun, which just goes to prove how cool our current commander-in-chief really is. It’s moves like this that make him likable and relatable to the average person. He’s not the same stale politician we’ve grown accustomed to in the U.S.

Service members, who had waited for the president’s arrival for hours, sang along to hits like “Sweet Caroline” and “Party in the USA.” Trump was soon joined by Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi as the pair arrived at the Yokosuka Naval Base. A little interesting background about Takaichi is that she used to be the drummer for a metal band in college and still rocks out on an electric drum kit to aid in stress relief. Her favorite bands include Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Deep Purple.

While delivering his speech, President Trump gushed about how good-looking all the service members present were. He then said that the true power of the Navy isn’t from the awesome machinery and weaponry it boasts, but “comes from the men and women of the rank and file.” He then added, “It comes from you people, incredible people, good-looking people, too many good-looking people.”

Then, in a display of his trademark humor, the president confessed to the crowd of service members, “I don’t like good-looking people. I never liked good-looking people, I’ll be honest with you. Never admitted that before.” It’s rare to find a billionaire who can connect so easily with regular people, but it’s that quality that helped get Trump elected over former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.

According to NDTV, the president then stated that the U.S. is going to be working closely with Japan to make ships, as Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick had recently signed a document to bolster cooperation in shipbuilding. Earlier in the day, Trump met with Takaichi to sign agreements concerning trade and critical minerals as part of a commitment from both leaders to give Japan’s defense capabilities a much-needed boost.

Trump heaped praise on Takaichi, calling her a “great leader.” The prime minister revealed that she was planning to nominate the president for the Nobel Peace Prize. Japan was the second stop for President Trump on a five-day tour of Asia. Before popping over to Tokyo, he had stopped in Malaysia to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and slapped his John Hancock down on the Cambodia-Thailand peace deal. Say what you will about the president, but it’s hard to deny his acumen when it comes to foreign policy.
