Posting on his Truth Social platform in the wake of his major courtroom victory against New York Attorney General Letitia James, President Donald Trump went scorched earth on the judge in that case, Judge Arthur Engoron, claiming that the notoriously anti-Trump judge is corrupt, crooked, and incompetent.
As background, President Trump’s appellate court victory came in the morning on Thursday, August 21, with the appellate court panel keeping the verdict intact but throwing out the over half a billion dollar fine as unjust and unconstitutional under the 8th Amendment standard, which outlaws the levying of excessive fines.
Further, dissenting from the majority opinion in part, Appellate court Justice David Friedman argued that AG James’ true aim was political, and so the case brought against President Trump should be dismissed. He wrote that the woke AG’s “ultimate goal was not market hygiene … but political hygiene, ending with the derailment of President Trump’s political career and the destruction of his real estate business.”
Commenting on the general situation and Judge Engoron’s role in it in a post during the afternoon on Sunday, August 24, President Trump began by snapping, “The Appellate Court removed incompetent Judge Engoron, but he refused to go, or even to acknowledge them.”
Continuing, the president alleged that both AG James and Judge Engoron are corrupt, and vowed that the judge would be chased even in retirement by a bevy of lawsuits. He said, “He’s a highly overturned, CROOKED Judge, who is retiring into a life of lawsuits, along with his Chief Clerk, soon! He is almost as Corrupt as Leticia James, but not quite! President DJT”
President Trump also sounded off on Judge Engoron in his original post celebrating the victory on the Thursday it occurred. Beginning that post, the president noted that the insanity of the whole situation was enough to make New York a dangerous place to do business, saying, “TOTAL VICTORY in the FAKE New York State Attorney General Letitia James Case! I greatly respect the fact that the Court had the Courage to throw out this unlawful and disgraceful Decision that was hurting Business all throughout New York State. Others were afraid to do business there. The amount, including Interest and Penalties, was over $550 Million Dollars.”
Continuing, he got to slamming Judge Engoron for being biased, saying, “It was a Political Witch Hunt, in a business sense, the likes of which no one has ever seen before. This was a Case of Election Interference by the City and State trying to show, illegally, that I did things that were wrong when, in fact, everything I did was absolutely CORRECT and, even, PERFECT. Every single Dollar was thrown out, even the penalties imposed on us by the Corrupt Judge, one of the most overturned in History, Arthur Engoron.”

Further slamming the judge and attacking Letitia James as well, he said, “I wasn’t given a Jury and, during the course of the Trial, which lasted a long time, was not given one Ruling in my favor by this Political Hack, but worse than him, if that’s possible, was Letitia James, a Corrupt and Incompetent Attorney General who only brought this Case in order to hurt me politically. She is a Trump Deranged Lunatic! They made me bond the outrageous sum, which never happened before, and which cost me Millions of Dollars a month. It should have never been allowed to happen, and everyone knew it! Importantly, the Vote was 5 to 0.”
