Sketchy Left-wing dark-money organizations, including the infamous George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, Tides Foundation, and Arabella Advisors, have shuffled over $20 million to far-left activist groups like Community Change and Community Change Action to back the Free DC’s protests against Trump’s crackdown on crime in Washington, DC.
For context, Free DC has organized over 150 demonstrators near the White House in opposition to Trump’s plan to deploy hundreds of National Guardsmen and federalize DC’s police to stop a violent crime wave in the capital.
In any case, a document circulated by Free DC gave a few guiding principles for their activists. The document noted, “Do not obey in advance” and invited protestors to “Take up space.” Another post encouraged activists to “Go outside at 8:00 PM and bang pots and pans, sing, chant, or make noise for five minutes.”
Reacting to this news, Caitlin Sutherland, who works with Americans for Public Trust, slammed the dark money-funded NGO. She said, “It is ironic that a protest to ostensibly ‘Free DC’ was hosted by Community Change, a group funded by massive amounts of outside dark money to push a pro-crime agenda.”
Building on this point, she continued, “DC is facing shootings, carjackings, and assaults, and yet progressive groups like The Pritzker Foundation, George Soros, and the Arabella Network all spend millions of dollars to manufacture protests that weaken our communities.”
As we reported, Trump justified his decisive actions by pointing to the chronic mismanagement that has characterized the local DC government. In a post to Truth Social, President Donald Trump stated, “Washington, D.C., has one of the Highest Rates of Crime in the World, more than many of the most violent third-world countries.”
Building on this point, he compared the violence in DC to other nations, saying, “The City’s Homicide Rate is higher than places notorious for their violence, such as Mexico City, Bogota, Islamabad, and Addis Ababa — Almost ten times higher than Fallujah, Iraq. If D.C. were a State, it would have the highest Homicide Rate of any State in America.”

Continuing his epic tirade, the president slammed the officials from the corrupt city government. Trump declared, “The Violent Crime Rate in D.C. has worsened, and the Murder Rate has essentially DOUBLED in just over a decade — But these are only the ‘official’ statistics released by corrupt City Officials. The REAL numbers are many times worse.”
Contextualizing the damage to everyday Americans, Trump said, “No one is arrested for shoplifting. Citizens living in fear have largely given up on calling the Police, instead choosing not to walk the streets after dark, essentially becoming captive prisoners in their own City. Stores lock up their merchandise behind glass walls,” building out his argument, he added, “Gang Youth Violence is so common it goes largely unreported. Vehicle Theft in D.C. is more than three times the National Average. Schools are completely dysfunctional. Citizens are afraid to speak up or, call the Police, lest they be targeted.”
Concluding his comments, the president noted, “The REAL Crime Rates are probably five to ten times what has been reported. D.C. has been under siege from thugs and killers, but now, D.C. is back under Federal Control where it belongs.”
