A federal agent had an epic comeback when an outraged leftist accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of “ruining this country,” telling the liberal heckler that the left had “already ruined” America as he and his fellow agents arrested an illegal alien who, according to the Department of Homeland Security, entered the country under the Biden administration.
For background, a video filmed on August 16, 2025, captured the arrest of Cristian Enrique Carias Torres, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant who was apprehended by ICE agents in Washington, D.C. During the man’s arrest, a heckler attempted to verbally harass the agents, and his comments were met with a simple response.
While watching Torres’ arrest take place, a man called out at the agents, “You guys are ruining this country. You know that, right?” In response, one agent, clad in a rainbow face mask, said, “Liberals already ruined it.” The next day, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin backed up the ICE agents who arrested Torres, pointing out that one sustained a “bloody head and concussion” when the illegal alien resisted.
Moreover, in a statement providing more details regarding Torres’ arrest, McLaughlin praised the ICE agent who said that liberals “already ruined” the country. She stated, “In the face of menacing taunts and harassment, this law enforcement officer conducted himself with dignity and did not violate DHS policy.”
Continuing, McLaughlin pointed to the injuries sustained by another ICE agent, saying, “As you see in the video, his fellow officer was on the ground with a bloody head and concussion due to violent resistance from the illegal alien they were apprehending.” She later added, “We are proud of the brave men and women of ICE who are facing a 1000% increase in assaults as cowardly politicians and activists encourage violence against them.”
Then, McLaughlin pointed to Torres’ history of delinquency while defending the ICE agents who arrested him, saying, “Cristian Enrique Carias Torres is an illegal alien from Venezuela who illegally entered the United States under the Biden Administration in 2023. He has a final order of removal from an immigration judge, issued that same year.”
Explaining further, the assistant secretary said that Torres “has repeatedly failed to appear for multiple court dates in Maryland related to a long list of traffic crimes, for which he currently has active warrants.” She went on, “This illegal alien has shown time and time again total disregard for the rule of law in the United States of America.”

Concluding her point, McLaughlin said, “Because [of] this increase in violence against them and doxing of their spouses and children, our officers often wear masks to protect themselves and their families from being targeted by highly sophisticated gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13, criminal rings, murderers, and rapists.” Defending the agents further, she said, “Our officers did identify themselves and had their badges clearly visible.”
