In a shocking moment, renowned podcaster and former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson exposed his former colleague, Fox’s Jennifer Griffin, as being compromised by the deep state, with Carlson calling Griffin a “shill” for the “deepest of deep states,” pulling no punches as he called out Griffin to his audience of millions.
For background, on a June 23, 2025, broadcast of “The Tucker Carlson Show,” Tucker and guest Clayton Morris weighed in on Fox News Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin, who Carlson described as “very liberal” and “a true Trump hater,” going on to say that his former colleague had presented misleading information to Fox’s audience.
Speaking to his guest on the podcast, Tucker ripped into Griffin, saying, “Jen Griffin is a liar, but also very liberal — a true Trump hater, to the point where I complained about her.” He continued, “And I really tried not to complain about other people at Fox when I worked there because I don’t like that office politics stuff, but she was discrediting the channel.”
In addition, Carlson said that Griffin was “a shill, obviously, for the deepest of deep states.” He went on, “But she’s like a parody. She’s like a parody. It’s like the whole thing.” He later added, “She was such a Trump hater, and it was emotional. Her internal memos were telling us—they were like screeds. It was like, ‘Oh, I’ll just read Politico Playbook if that’s what you want, or whatever. I’ll read Mother Jones.’”
Continuing, Tucker went on to explain that as a Fox employee, “You could not touch Jennifer Griffin.” Tucker then recounted, “And I said to an executive at Fox, ‘What are we doing with this Jennifer Griffin person? She’s an idiot. She doesn’t tell the truth. She misleads our viewers, and she’s like a screaming liberal who hates Trump, who our viewers love. So what are we getting out of this?’”
Shockingly, Carlson told his guest that when he presented his concerns to an executive, he was shut down: “And I was told, ‘Oh, you could not touch Jennifer.’ I don’t know what that’s about.”
However, fellow journalists have since gone on to defend Griffin, particularly after she was criticized by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on June 26, 2025, during a press conference related to the airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. After Griffin asked a question about the success of the strikes, Hegseth reportedly said, “Jennifer, you’ve been about the worst, the one who misrepresents the most intentionally what the president says.”

Furthermore, Griffin’s colleague at Fox News, Brit Hume, ardently defended Griffin after Carlson and Secretary Hegseth called her out, saying, “[It was] an attack she certainly, in my view, did not deserve,” and adding, “Her professionalism, her knowledge, and her experience at the Pentagon is unmatched. And I have then, have had, and still have, the greatest regard for her. The attack on her was unfair.”
