Fired USAID Bureaucrats Threaten Deep State Sabotage, Regime Change Against Trump

A revealing interview with an anonymous federal government employee revealed that a group of fired staff members from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are actively working to sabotage President Trump’s agenda from within the government as an act of retaliation, using subversive tactics in an attempt to enact a regime change.

For background, a July 7, 2025, report from NOTUS featured an extensive interview with a federal official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealing that a group of disgruntled former USAID employees, along with current members of other federal agencies, is working to undermine President Trump after he stripped USAID of its funding.

Explaining the resistance to the president and his policies, an anonymous federal official told Jose Pagilery of NOTUS that they felt that the United States was headed in the direction of authoritarianism under President Trump, saying, “Take it from those of us who worked in authoritarian countries: we’ve become one.”

Continuing, the anonymous official said that the Trump Administration was “so quick to disband [US]AID, the group that supposedly instigates color revolutions,” adding, “But they’ve done a very foolish thing.” The official continued, “You just released a bunch of well-trained individuals into your population.”

Building on his point, the official said the Trump Administration should have “kept our offices going and had us play solitaire in the office,” saying that in that case, “it might have been safer to keep your regime.” The official added that they were advocating for the practice of “Simple Sabotage,” a tactic used to “harass and demoralize enemy administrators and police.”

In addition, NOTUS reported that “former officials” had stated that they are “holding workshops on a tactic called ‘noncooperation'” and are “building a network of government workers willing to engage in even minor acts of rebellion in the office,” along with “planting the seeds of what they hope could become a nationwide general strike.”

Moreover, the outlet claimed that an “informal network of Trump opponents” that is “composed of diplomats and human rights activists who were once on the U.S. government payroll encouraging Latin American dissidents to fight dictators and supporting African independence movements” is actively working against the president and was previously “involved to varying degrees with an ultimately successful uprising in the Middle East.”

However, in response to the statements from unnamed former and current federal government employees, Deputy White House press secretary Anna Kelly “attacked the effort,” telling NOTUS: “It is inherently undemocratic for unelected bureaucrats to undermine the duly elected President of the United States and the agenda he was given a mandate to implement.”
