Beloved Conservative Commentator Scott Jennings Surprises with Major Career News

Beloved conservative commentator Scott Jennings, best known as the voice of reason on CNN, made the surprising announcement that he was striking out on his own to host “The Scott Jennings Show,” a syndicated broadcast that will be part of the Salem Media Group.

For background, in a July 2, 2025, interview on “The Mike Gallagher Show,” conservative commentator Scott Jennings shared the news that he will be hosting “The Scott Jennings Show,” a daily program that will air on the Salem Radio Network from 2-3 p.m. Jennings explained that he was leaving CNN to focus on the subjects that interest him the most instead of “having to talk over five people, at least for an hour.”

Speaking to Mike Gallagher, Jennings explained that he was “ready for the grind” of hosting his own show, adding that after he served as the guest host for Gallagher, he wondered, “How does Mike Gallagher pull this off with such professionalism every single day? Because it’s hard, it’s hard to do. You’ve got to keep up with the news…you’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Continuing, Jennings said that he was “having a great time” planning for the launch of his new show, and charitably gave CNN credit for “putting this debating show on the air,” adding, ” It’s really the only show like it on cable TV. And I think everywhere I go, I go all over the country, people tell me they want the debates, and there’s a hunger for conservative voices in mainstream media, so we can have actual dialogue, actual conversation.”

Next, Jennings weighed in on the impact of the dialogues and debates he had participated in on CNN, saying, “I think in the Trump era, one thing we’ve learned is we shouldn’t ignore anybody. We shouldn’t ignore any platform.” He added, “Conservatives should feel emboldened to go into every corner of media, every corner of politics, every corner of every institution, and proclaim our values and debate and actually have a conversation.”

Building on his point, Jennings said that when conservatives are given voices in mainstream media, as he was on CNN, “the movement grows,” adding, ” I think that’s why the show on Salem is going to be another thing for me to do here, to take our message out into the world and say, ‘Here’s what we believe about the news of the day.'”

Jennings went on to explain that he had received extremely positive feedback for his work, saying, “I’m just hearing from so many people across the country: the debates matter, and we’re winning the debates. And the more debates we have, the better off we’ll be.” Gallagher then added that “The Scott Jennings Show” kicks off on Monday, July 14, on hundreds of radio stations all over the country.”

Concluding their conversation, Gallagher said that everyone on the Salem team is “smiling about ‘The Scott Jennings Show,’ a new weapon in the fight for truth.” He added, “I’ve got this title for you: The CNN Common Sense Crusader. I’m going to run out and trademark it so I can look I like the way it fits. I think it fits you nicely.”
