“We’re All Going to Die”: Schumer Has Jaw-Dropping Meltdown Over Trump’s Tax Relief for Seniors, Other Cuts [WATCH]

Chuck Schumer has once again tried and failed to deter Republican senators from supporting the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which he attempted to characterize as the “We’re All Going To Die Act” in a hyperbole-filled speech in the Senate chamber that focused on fearmongering and guilt.

For context, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) went on a bizarre rant on the Senate floor on June 4, 2025, predictably criticizing the Trump Administration for its proposed cuts to Medicaid and making sweeping exaggerations about the results of changes to the federal budget, which he said would “devastate Medicaid” and put Americans’ health at risk.

In his remarks, Sen. Schumer called on his fellow Democrats to “be honest about what the Republicans’ bill really is,” going on to argue that President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” is really “repeal and replace by another name.” He added, “Not one fell swoop, but death by a thousand paper cuts.”

Next, the senator called out the Republicans and asserted that those who support the budget bill are “afraid to say they want to kill health care, Medicaid, the ACA,” adding, “So instead, they put so many barriers in the way that, in effect, they do the same thing. They’re doing the same with Social Security.”

Later, Sen. Schumer ratcheted up his levels of hyperbole, saying, “Republicans should forget calling this thing their ‘Big, Beautiful Bill.'” He went on, “You know what the new name for this bill is? A more suitable name? The ‘We’re All Going To Die’ Act. Because that just about sums up how callous they’re being with the American people.”

Attempting to build on his point, the senator said that “for many Americans, health care is the difference between life and death,” adding, “Democrats will fight this bill with everything we’ve got. The American people deserve to know the truth.” Then, addressing his colleagues in the Republican party, he said, “Donald Trump is selling you…a bill of goods.”

Then, speaking directly to the Republican senators in the room, Sen. Schumer said that President Trump was lying when making the case that the “Big, Beautiful Bill” would benefit Americans, including senior citizens like Sen. Schumer, who said, “Don’t believe his false words. Because if you vote for this bill, the effects will actually occur, and the public will realize what you have done.”

Finishing his remarks, Sen. Schumer attempted to guilt-trip Republicans into opposing the bill, saying, “When he calls you in and tells you that no one is going to be hurt, no one is going to lose coverage, you know that’s a crock of you-know-what. I can’t say it here.” He concluded, “Don’t listen to him. Because your constituents will pay an awful price in health care, and they will know you did it.”
